| Noah C. Hale was born in March ,1858 in Russell Co. Va.The son of Henry D. Hale and Betsy Ruth Franklin,he was the youngest of 14 children. He and Mary Jane Grizzle/ Silcox were married March 31,1876 in Russell Co. Va. Mary Jane, the daughter of Nancy Grizzle and (Unknown)was born September 1, 1854 in Russell Co. Her mother married William F. Silcox on 9/5/1855 She was always known to the family as MaryJane Silcox. While looking for their marriage license I found she gave her name as Grizzle and no father was given.My mom remembers her grandmother as being a good natured lady, a little on the heavy side and smoked a corncob pipe.Grandpa Noah died before mom was born and she knew very little about him. |

| Floyd Larkin Hale was born in August 1889 and on August 19, 1909 in Russell Co. Va., he married Elizabeth Bailey. Elizabeth was the daughter of Samuel and Caroline Bailey and was born about 1890.Their children were , Floyd, Sarah, Rubie, James, and Mary. |
| Ezra Markwood Hale was born December 24, 1892 in Russell Co Va. and died January 17, 1959 in a nursing home in Leipsic Ohio after suffering from a stroke. He married first Climie Marshall and then Sarah Susanah Lucas. Click here for more about Ezra. |
| Robert D. Hale was born April 27, 1894 in Russell Co.Va.and died April 24, 1964. He married Margaret Lucas, the daughter of John L. Lucas and Elizabeth Shepherd on January 13, 1916.
