WHO I AM
Well, this seems like the best place to start to get acquainted with me.  If you have yet to visit my "home" page, my name is Jonathan Wong.  Currently, I am a 19-year old Chinese-Canadian, and I (used to) live in the nation's third-largest city, Vancouver.

I am currently attending Duke University; I bet you can't tell me what state it's in...
Vancouver is an awesome place to live...easy-going people, great music, stellar scenery, abundant multicultural communities, and, well, frankly, a lot of weed!  Yes, that type of weed.  What's that?  Have I smoked weed before?  Ha, you insult my pleasant demeanor.  The most law-unabiding thing I've ever done before in my life was a confrontation with cops that somehow segued into a conversation about "elephant walks".

Vancouver has an overall aura of kindness and Canucks.  We also have a lot of mountains on which to ski and snowboard; you might have heard of our most famous mountain, Whistler/Blackcomb.  If you want to show off your superior skiing and riding talent, just come over to Whistler!  Oh right, bring a couple thousand dollars for the lift pass... (~65 dollars Canadian, if you're actually wondering).  This brings to my mind something:  I went skiing with a friend at the Wintergreen ski resort in Virginia last weekend.  The "black" runs there were definitely not like the black runs at Blackcomb...much easier.  Hmmm, was I just really on my A-game last weekend?  Am I that good?  Well, the answer to that question is that I am not good.  As an Asian, I am required to downplay and cite my overall incompetence at all things in life, including drinking alcohol, general physics, understanding euphemisms for "going to take a pee", making friends, finding girlfriends, sightreading music, looking inconspicuous after (_____) in my triple room.  I guess I should kill myself tomorrow.

But back to my city.  It really is quite a beautiful place.  It really does have everything:  Science World, a "Skytrain", Robson Street, 6 years to prepare for an Olympics, a fairly vibrant gay community, lots of travellers, and, of course, people with hypodermic needles!

Please come visit Vancouver sometime...I have great confidence that you will be well received.  If not, you can hunt me down and take (verbal) cheap shots at me.  I'm afraid physical cheap shots won't be very fun for you, since I am well versed in the art of getting hurt/dying on cue.

(Below) During a grade 10 band tour to Germany and Austria, we had a chance to visit the "Crime Museum" in Rothenberg, our last stop before home.  Oh lordie...long night ahead...  (March 2000)
Pausing at a bridge in the small but picturesque Cypress Falls Park in North Vancouver. (July 2002)
Having just found out on google that Duke is in North Carolina, we turn ourselves to a more important question:  Why do I hate the University of North Carolina so much?  Well actually, that's a great question.  But to tell you the honest truth, I don't think I'm going to hate them so much when we BEAT THE F***CKING HELL OUT OF THEM TONIGHT IN CAMERON.
