Helping Children with Autism - webliography

Acceptable Use Policy

Reflection

As a teacher it is important that we help all students.  What works for one student may not work for all students.  Therefore I have put together a webliography that would aid teachers with autistic students.  The webliography shows some adaptive or assistive technologies that would be beneficial for some students.  There is so much technology out there that teachers need to be made aware of to ensure that they are reaching all students.  I learned a lot about how to find such technologies and only hope that it will help others.

It is great that students and teachers are willing to use technology.  However, with technology come potential safety issues.  We need to make sure our children are using technology properly.  You can do this by having an internet acceptable use policy that you require students, parents, and even the teacher to sign.  This will ensure that students and parents know and are aware of the policies in place.  If a student abuses the right then he/she will not be able to use technology.  This is a good thing to have because you need to teach students that some things are appropriate while others are unacceptable.
