When
I think of the birds,
I think of how high they can fly,
Never tired of the countless trips,
Finding twigs to build a new home.
When
I think of the village children,
I think of what the future brings them,
Their innocent laughter fills the land,
May their stomachs be full and their homes warm.
When
I think of my mother,
I think of how she cares for me,
I cause her to worry, brought her tears,
She knows me, she loves me.
When I think of the heavenly stars,
I think of wise Old Li,
His words, his laughter, his grief, his eyes,
A lasting memory embedded in my heart.
When
I think of the mountains,
I think of the lonely journey ahead,
A restless soul, my spirit wanders,
In solitude thus my strength.
When
I think of the temples,
I think of the faces of the monks,
Exemplifying an aura of peace and harmony,
Will my journey to the east end here?
When
I think of the beautiful things,
I think of my lotus flower,
I wait for the day she whispers her love for me,
Softly her words shall touch and free my soul.
