The Sound of Silence

Sounds of the ocean breeze and cries of the birds,
Filled the air as the sun bids me goodbye,
Yet all I hear is the sound of silence,
The golden silence has miles to go.

When will she walk the beach with me,
To swim in the waters with no intent,
To be free and fierce against the waves,
To place her life, her trust in me.

The distance far, the time does stretch,
She has one that binds her heart,
So who am I, the wondering soul,
A place in her heart she will always keep.

The ocean waves rush to the shores,
They would not stay, they have to go,
The birds fly down and rest on a branch,
They would not stay, they have to go.

I will let her go as the waves and birds,
Oh, can't see feel my love so deep?

How beautiful the words that soothe the heart
As if to reach across the miles to touch
To hold the bird on wing the flower from falling fast
To tame the swells of wind whipped ocean waves

To sit in silence does not mean to be alone
T'is golden crested unspoken thoughts that scream
For never does one truly reach the mountain top
Without first walking through the desert sands

In life we entertwine our selves with others
Each one sharing precious bits and pieces
Laying out before the one to see them fit
Among the others in life's mysterious  puzzle

So do not take your words your self from this far place
But share each day anew with its own time
And walk the miles in friendship everlasting
For that is all that's asked of each of us
