| BRAZIL Een zeer groot en prachtig land met een zeer vriendelijke bevolking. Het is interessanter wanneer je Portugees spreekt want weinigen kunnen er een andere taal spreken. Je kunt u behelpen met uw Spaans maar het is moeilijk. Ik vergelijk het verschil in de 2 talen als met Nederlands en Duits. A very big and beautiful country with a very friendly population. It is more interesting to speak Portuguees when travelling there because with Spanish it is possible but difficult. Een ander nadeel in dit land is MASTERCARD! Je kunt om het even wat kopen in de winkels met een mastercard maar er zijn GEEN ATM'S met deze creditcard in heel Brasil. De anderen zijn geen probleem. Another desadvantage in that country is the MASTERCARD! You can buy everything with that card in the shops but there are no ATM's that will accept it. The other cards where no problem. FOZ DE IGLASSU (24/02/2000-26/02/2000) Ligt aan de grens met Argentina en Paraguay. In deze stad heb je de spectaculaire watervallen(3USD+bus) die je zowel kunt bewonderen vanuit Brazil als vanuit Argentina. At the border with Argentina and Paraguay. From this town you can visit the beautiful waterfalls(3USD+bus) as well from the Brasilian side as from the Argentinian one. ACCOMODATIE: ACCOMODATION: HOTEL KING SAN REMO HOTEL Av. De prijzen van de accomodatie verdriedubbelen er tijdens deze periode maar in het obscure downtown Rio vind je altijd wel iets goedkoop als je niet te moeilijk bent. De enige tegenvaller was de wereldbekende erotische parade die enkel voor de rijke tourist is weggelegd (of je moet een goede verrekijker hebben en hopen dat ze het niet stelen.) Carnaval is not the best time fot a budgettraveller, but it is a great experience to be there at that time. The prices for accomodation go triple during that periode but you can always find some cheap places in the obscurity of downtown Rio if you are not too difficult. The only desappointment was the famous erotic parade that can only be enjoyed by the rich (or you have to have some good binoculars and hope they do not steal them). De stad heeft een zeer gemakkelijke metrosysteem maar het is geen grote. Een prachtige kuststrook en vanuit SUGAR LOAF en het CHRISTUSBEELD, kun je genieten van een prachtige panorama van de stad.
