| 1. | Windows Accessories are helpful applications that come with the Windows operating system. |
| 2. | To open a Windows Accessory application, open the Start Menu, go to the Programs (or All Programs on Windows XP) submenu, open the Accessories submenu and select the application from the list. |
| 3. | The four main Windows Accessories, available in all versions of Windows, are Calculator, Notepad, WordPad and Paint. |
| 4. | Calculator is a calculating application that performs mathematical operations. Notepad is a word processing application/text editor that allows you to type, save and print very simple text documents. WordPad is a slightly more advanced word processing program/text editor that can type, save and print documents with more features such as color, bold, underline, italics, inserted pictures and text formatting. Paint is a drawing application. |
| 5. | It is important to know how to use each of these four main Windows Accessories because they are available in every version of Windows and can be helpful when you have no other similar programs available or if you do not know how to use the other similar programs. |
