2. Travel expenses

£0-£3 , depending on area. Please note that some students do NOT like to pay "travel expenses" but would not mind if the fees are a bit higher.

3. Please note:

The rates above are only our suggested rates.

The teacher/tutor decides how much they charge their students.

The lesson fee is paid directly to the teacher by the pupil, and we think it is wise for teachers to request payment at the end of each lesson.

Students must give 48 hours notice if they want to cancel a lesson, otherwise the lesson must be paid for.

Teachers must give 48 hours notice if they want to cancel a lesson. An alternative time must be offered.

4. Tax

All tutors are self-employed and are responsible for any tax and/or national insurance contributions which may be due.

VAT does NOT apply to educational services.

If your earnings are below £15,000 for a full year you will NOT have to register with customs and excise. However you can apply for voluntary registration.

For help and advice on VAT ring your VAT Business Advice Center or Enquiry Office listed in the phone book under 'Customs and Excise'.

For general help and advice on tax, ring or call in at your local Tax Office or Tax Enquiry Center. Their addresses are in you local telephone book under 'Inland Revenue'. Most offices are open to the public from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Some are also open outside these hours.

5. Agency Commission (teachers only)
We do NOT charge teachers or students an hourly agency commission (unlike most agencies). However, we do ask teachers for a £10 DONATION TO THEIR CHOSEN CHARITY per advert (a whole webpage+ several hyperlinks from www.LondonHomeTutors.co.uk).Please click here to see the list of charities.

This advert is guaranteed: DONATION can be refunded if you do not receive a student from us within a month.

Once you receive a student you must notify us and pay a second advert if you are interested in tutoring more students.

6. Minimizing Costs.
Other Agencies charge teachers over £4 per hour per student. How can you charge only ask for a £10 (minimum) DONATION per student per life?
We are the first London Home Tutor agency purely based on Internet. We do not rent offices or classrooms. We do not pay an expensive phone bill because we do not use the telephone much.
It is essential that you (teachers only) send the commission at the agreed time as this helps us to minimize our costs even more, and therefore allows us to keep the commission as low as possible.

7. Payment.

New teachers must send us the DONATION TO THEIR CHOSEN CHARITY as soon as they register with us. This DONATION can be refunded if the teacher does not receive a student from us within a month.

Teachers interested in more students must send us the DONATION if possible immediately after the first lesson, and always before the third lesson with the last student received.

To pay the DONATION please send a cheque payable to OxfamCharity for African Education, Unicef  , VSO  , or Intercultura to the following address:

Anita Bjelica, LHT-Donations, 11 Holmdene, 32 Holden Road, London, N12 8HU

This DONATION can be refunded if you do not receive a student from us within a month.

After this DONATION the student becomes your personal tutee. We will NOT charge any commission for any lesson given to your personal tutees or any contact (friends, relatives, etc.) that may become your personal tutee.

If we do not receive the DONATION by the agreed time your advert will be removed and you will not receive more students for us.

8. Extra help from teachers.
If you have a personal tutee interested in tuition that you cannot provide (either because you have too many students, or it is on a different subject, or for any other reason), and you direct him/her to us, another teacher will benefit from it. This will mean another DONATION.

9. Extra earnings 4 every 1.
If you help us advertise London Home Tutors, you will earn £2.50 per Student/Teacher.

You will receive a cheque payable to you for that amount before the Student/Teacher has attended his/her 6th lesson.

Remember that by doing that you will also be helping your favourite charity.

Click here if you are interested.
