The number of people who have to ask themselves 'Why?'

This bit is just a small review of the great games that have shaped the
way i look and feel about adventure games
- Space Quest I, II, III, IV, V, VI
The space Quest series has been great, I, II and III were the best of the series with IV and
V being good and playable but VI being a little disappointing. Good graphics and sound is no
substitute for gameplay, and the commentary was really annoying.
- Kings Quest I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII
The kings quest series has been of high gameplay standard at all times with the best ones being
the earlier ones up to number IV, i reckon III was the best but that's just me. V and VI were good
and i found challenging and the puzzles were interesting, but VII i don't know, the gameplay was
okay but it just didn't feel like kings quest anymore.
- Police Quest I & II
These have been fun to play, but alas i had to resort to the hint book to complete these, i haven't
played them in a while, but when i did they just seemed too hard, it felt like you needed to be
an american cop to play them, but that is the 12 year old in me talking.
- Hero's Quest I, II, III, IV
This is as close to role playing as i like to get. The first in this series by far was the best,
II was a little confusing and the maze of the town was a little annoying and there was not much
room for a thief's character. III was quite good, better than II at least, i have to say i really
enjoyed it, it was one of those games i thought about when i wasn't playing it (like at school) but
quite a lot of games have that affect when you're stuck.
- Monkey Island I, II, III
This series is brilliant, it's hard to decide which i like best out of I and II, it's the kind
of adventure game you can come back and play again and still get something out of it. The humorous
speech is what makes the game, and is something i'd love to have in the game i'm making. Number III
was a bit different to the other two and i'm not sure if i like it yet.
- Maniac Mansion & Day of the Tentacle
Maniac Mansion was good but i didn't really play it that much, Day of the Tentacle on the other
hand is what really turned me from Sierra to Lucas Arts. One of the first of the cartoony games, when
i heard it was cartoony i didn't think it would be that good, but BOY was i wrong this game was
fantastic, i'd love to make a game like it, but i'm not Lucas Arts i'm afraid.
- Sam n Max Hit the Road
See 'Day of the Tentacle' description.
- The Dig
Hmmm, yeah okay it was good, but no Day of the Tentacle or Monkey Island Series. The puzzles and
gameplay were good, but it lacked humor, which just seems to make an adventure game so much more
enjoyable.
- Full Throttle
This seemed a little short, i don't know what other people thought but it seemed like more
cut scenes than actual adventuring, i liked the bunnies in the minefield though.
- Indiana Jones - Fate of Atlantis
Yep, this was a great game. I liked the way you could go two different ways to complete the game
it is a feature that would be desirable in my game but just seem like too much effort to design.
The music and graphics were fantastic, not too much not too little if you know what i mean. The
music, like in movies, can make the game.
