My Hobbies and Interests

You are visitor number:

I have several "hobbies" and interests, some of which are related to my job as Locomotive Engineer. I enjoy sports, particularly baseball and volleyball and enjoy "talking shop" on railroad related matters. I am disposing of some of my collection which includes Operating Manuals, Rulebooks, Air Brake & Train Handling Books, etc. Email me at LokoMac8 for a listing. I would really be interested in trades for Texas shortline and railroad material. I have many items for sale or trade, and they may be found on my "LISTS" webpage at: LISTS.

My favorite railroads are the Austin & Northwestern Railroad (both the old original one and the newer one -- both fallen flags), the Bartlett Western Railroad and its predecessors, the M-K-T and of course, the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe. In addition, I am interested in the San Antonio & Aransas Pass, the Indianola Railroad, the Houston & Texas Central, the Texas Central and the Stephenville North & South Texas Railway. I am always looking for artifacts and collectibles from any of these railroads. If you have anything, please email me and let me know!

Also, if you haven't figured it out from my other pages, I am interested in all things "Dr. Grabow" and "Linkman's" and collect Dr. Grabow pipes, of which I have some 350+ pipes and some 70+ shapes, etc. I am always looking for more pipes and more information on the history of the pipes and the men behind their production.

And then their's my 1936 Chevy Standard Coach! What a car! What history it's seen! A lot of time is taken tinkering with it and looking for parts, etc. Driving it brings such joy to me and I try and take it out almost every evening. Pictures will be forthcoming when I get a chance to edit this website in greater detail.

Ford 8N and 9N Tractors

I enjoy working on and using my Ford 8N tractor which I have had for several years. Primarily I use mine to keep the grass cut and for gardening. I also enjoy working on other folks tractors. A friend of mine and I have worked on several other Fords and Fergusons. An excellent site if you are interested in old tractors (not just Fords) is www.stevenstractor.com. Here's a picture of my 1949 Ford 8N, which was a real basket case when I towed it home:
