A Land Divided
Nosgoth is a land that has suffered centuries of brutal war, conflict and strife - even long before the birth of Kain. It is a land divided between the Human Territories to the south and the east, and Kain's empire to the north and the west. Each race has its own different factions which stand out from their brethren, but are all united by a single common goal: the annihilation or subjugation of their common adversaries. Other forces lack this motivation and simply wander the lands mindless, haunting the forests and mountains and preying on the innocent and not-so-innocent alike on the roadways linking the cities and citadels of both sides together. Below is a treatise on all the known forces in Nosgoth.
Centered around the decayed Pillars of Nosgoth, situated deep within the Sanctuary of the Clans - the capital of the empire - Kain's empire spreads throughout northern and western Nosgoth like a plague. Under his banner march his six 'sons', the Lieutenants of his empire and the Masters of their own Clans. Unrelenting and seemingly unstoppable, they will not rest until Nosgoth belongs to Kain.
On the back footing for most of the war, the Human Territories' main reason for its lack of success has been its lack of singular leadership. The Human factions have pursued their own agendas, and as such have made themselves easier to pick off one at a time. Now however, certain beings seek to change this and turn the tide against the hated Vampire menace.
Nosgoth is a dark, bleak land, having suffered under the yoke of corruption for millennia. This corruption has bred all manner of sick, twisted creatures that now lurk in the dark places of the world. The rift between the world of Nosgoth and the Demon Dimension caused by the Pillars' corruption has allowed dark forces to enter the world, while the dead do not often rest easy...
