Daniel Joseph Logue was born at Clinton, Iowa in 1862. As a young man he moved to the Centerville area in South Dakota with his parent Daniel J. Logue, Sr. and Susan Langan.
Daniel J. Logue, Jr. married Catherine Kilbride, daughter of Patrick Kilbride of Wakonda, South Dakota. They farmed southwest of Centerville.

There were two additional children who died at an early age.
Daniel J. Logue, Jr. died April 29, 1954 and Catherine died on January 1, 1959.
