Note from the Master:
As many of you may have realized, Masonry is taking drastic steps to increase membership in the Fraternity. The biggest evidence of this is the Grand Masters One-Day Class. Other states have been doing this with reported success.
I know some of you may have negative feelings about this. I will not attempt to change your opinion. However, please realize that the Grand Master has issued an edict, which we must comply with.
As for our Lodge, we are doing very well on membership. (Note the number of new petitions this month). Our problem is scheduling enough time to put on the degrees. That’s where we need your help. Please take note of the work nights in this bulletin and show up.
See you in Lodge.
Fraternally,
Mikel R. Carter, WM
Brethren who are ill or shut in: Mark Edwards
Memoriams: Albert Frederick Oberschlake
Grand Masters All Degree Day:
April 27, 2002 has been selected as the All Degree Day.
On that one day a candidate can receive all three degrees of the Blue Lodge and the 32nd Degree of Scottish Rite.
The special degrees will be hosted by the 10 Scottish Rite Valleys in Ohio. If you know of anyone who would like to join Masonry, but has not had the time, this would be a good time to tell them about the one-day class.
Brothers who have never completed their degree work will be able to attend this class. Petitions will have to be received by our Lodge by the March stated meeting to allow time for investigation and balloting.
Contact the Master or Secretary if you have any questions.
Did you know?
Every candidate needs a mentor at the Grand Masters class April 27, 2002?
In fact, if space becomes limited, the only way you might get to see the one-day class event is to be a mentor.
So get your name on a petition and ask to be a mentor.
Amnesty Program:
Grand Master Thomas Reynolds has offered a form of “amnesty” for members suspended for non-payment of dues.
Any such member can apply for reinstatement by paying just one year’s dues rather than two.
This will apply until July 31, 2002. If you know any suspended member please let them know.
