I have since looked in the Scott marriage records of Harlan Co. and found the only Milton Scott getting married in that Co. was married 1894 to Salley Brittian. The Marriage Certificate is in Book 10 on page 66.Lewis your line up of the children of Leonard & Johannah "Hannah" Hensley Scott is the same as mine. .

Therefore I would agree with you Randy and say Albert just took the Shephard name. Avery Malissa Hensley was first married to Sidney B. Hensley May 27, 1916 in Harlan Co., KY. A copy of their marriage certificate can be found at the Harlan Court House in Book 16 page 486. Malissa had two children in this marriage before they were divorced. The children were Henry Albert Hensley b. abt. 1917 & Fielding Hensley b. abt. 1919.After this marriage Malissa then married a Shepherd (I don�t know for sure what his first name was) and they had 7 children that I know of. In the 1900 Harlan Co. census Malissa was living at home with her parents and listed as 4 years old.
