Melissa was my uncle Gilbert Hensley's sister her son Albert Shepherd lived over in front of dad's house near rose hill va. my uncle said Albert Shepherd was a Hensley but he went by Shepherd .

They lived in the house near the cem. his uncle Gilbert Hensley who was my uncle also. lived there at one time I think my sister said Albert's daughter is buried there also. L.B.

Fee anywhere on a computer search. You indicted Albert's parents were John and Melissa Shepherd. I am still looking for them., but when I did an LDS Family Search online, KY I found Henry Albert Shepherd's (b. 1914) parents are listed as Sidney B, Hensley and Malissa Hensley, with Hensley ancestors on both sides. Albert Shepherd's obituary, Janette Nolan - Dec 17, 2006 Viewers | Reply to this item Harlan Enterprise--17 April 1986Albert Shepherd Albert Shepherd, 71, Rose Hill, VA., formerly of Harlan, died Monday at the University of Tennessee hospital. A native of Bell County, the retired coal miner had lived in Harlan County several years where he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1178 at Baxter and was also a member of the United Mine Workers of America. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Pentecostal Church and of the Masonic Lodge. He had lived the past 28 years in Rose Hill. He is survived by nine children, George Eddy Shepherd, Jack Shepherd, Peggy Wheeler and Brenda Howell, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; Byrd Shepherd, Belleville, Ill., Jerry Shepherd, Oklahoma City, Okla. ; Chief Petty Officer Ronnie Shepherd, U. S. Navy, San Diego, Calif.; Wilma Laws, Anaheim, Calif.; and Linda Eldridge, Rose Hill. Also surviving are two brothers, Fielding Shepherd, Los Angeles, Calif.; Billy Dan Shepherd, Gulston; five sisters, Lucille Souleyret, and Elizabeth Howard, both of Mary Alice; Ruth Sprinkles, Harlan; Maxine Turner, Big Laurel; Izetta Miller, Baltimore, Md.; 25 grandchildren and 19 great
grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p. m. Friday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Rose Hill with the Rev. Charles Long officiating. Burial will follow at the Trent Cemetery in Rose Hill where Masonic graveside services will be conducted. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home.
