Power From Within
It all starts in our mind.
Written by T-ONE

In these desolate, mind killing times it is hard to keep telling yourself that you are sane. I guess we can all find assurance in the fact that it isn't us who are insane but this society itself. The ruling capitalist elite sit back sipping ice tea while the majority, poor working class scum like me and you, slave away. Many, many people have spoken of revolution. And it many cases it has been achieved. Unfortunately for me revolution won't change my disliking for the human race. Greed may not be a part of human nature but in our current society and possibly all our future societies it may as well be.
My only escape from it all is when I sit back and laugh at how funny it all is. Sure thousands of thousands of people die every single day because a few rich fucks wish to dine buffet. But hey you have to keep a sense of humour. Just thinking of the rich elite sitting back there sipping their ice tea and talking about absolute bullshit "does my tie match these shoes?". Well it brings a smile to my face.

Not many people will ever know what it means to really live and those that do think they know only do that, think - perceive. None of us are right. There is no wrong or right. Face it. Morals do not exist. If I had the time and the patience I could recreate my consciousness. We all could. Life is but a perception. But one we must all live every day. No one will ever prove or disprove anything. For all our thoughts, beliefs and values are simply creations of our fragile mind. Friends are perhaps just a tool for an insecure mind. Tricking ourselves into thinking we are not alone. The awful truth is that we are all alone. No one truly denies it. We all know it. Or at least perceive it to be true. Anyway getting back to my previous point. This is a perception we must live day by day. Our current world consciousness is one of materialism and consumerism. It is unlikely to change. So how do I cope with all the bullshit? Well humour helps. I guess realising none of it is neither truly real nor truly inexistent helps. One must take comfort in knowing nothing. If we know nothing and no one else knows anything. It brings a newfound sense of equality into our minds. We no longer have to look up to anyone. Nor look down on anyone for that matter. This includes all beings, for it is mere stupidity for us as humans to say we are the most intelligent beings. Saying that in fact disproves our previous statement. Intelligence is a mere perception. Understanding and dealing with ones mind in a way to stay relatively calm and balanced is a skill we should all master.

So how do we keep a sense of clarity in such an insane world? How do we, the pathetic pawns of this world, manage to maintain harmony and peace within our own minds? Like I said a dark sense of humour goes a long way. Think about all the 'wrong' doings in the world and how ironic it all is. Just look Dubya in the eyes and say to yourself "that guy sleeps with a night light on". Sure it doesn't do much for you if you are a starving uranium effected Iraqi child. But luckily for me. I am not.

We truly know nothing but the moment and a vague understanding of what has come before. The desire for change, whether it be revolution or hair colour, is a natural feeling. But where does change start? In our minds of course. I think it is not enough to understand human systems. Anyone can read Marx, Lenin, Trotsky etc and say they are socialists and understand the need for system change. But how many people can accept they are not right and that all they know and believe is not correct. Nor is anyone else right or wrong. But you say "but killing is obviously wrong". Well people die. Animals die. My perception is that to kill and oppress isn't doing anyone good. Simply because like I said we must all live in our minds. This is the only reality we know. Pain is very real if you think it is. And good luck ignoring it. So I fight to stop oppression, US imperialism, fascism, corporate control, mass media brainwashing, detention of innocents, materialism etc. But we must stop and accept that we are not right... No one else thinks we are right. They think they are right. In truth right and wrong do not exist. We all know it. It is obvious.

Anyway there was a point to this dribble a while back. Revolution does not start in a book. Revolution starts in your mind. First we must come to cope with this world, calm our mind, become relative. Then we must accept we are not right. There is no right or wrong. Then we can understand that in the end none of us truly know anything. We are all equal and in the end all alone. Once we reach this basic understanding we can go on to live our perception and change what we want to change, always stopping to question ourselves, what we are feeling, what we are doing and why we are doing it. All the while experiencing the only true thing we will ever know this life has to offer. Emotion.

Here is the continutation I wrote to this article after I received a few comments:

Well in truth there is no reality to face. Only the one we create in our mind. Sure there is a reality out there. I do not deny universal reality. Matter exists. But how we perceive and relate to this reality is completely dependent on our minds. One thing a lot of psychologists forget to take into account is the simple fact that our minds are always in a state of flux. Simply because we are continually creating the world around us. Seeing things the way we want to see them. Most, obviously, don't have control over this and as a result this reality seems to have no meaning. People have said that life is a continual flow of meaningless events. This is true, however it isn't just reality/life that is continually changing. Our minds change every single second. Always creating our environment around us. Always working. Therefore you never feel exactly the same in your whole life and the feelings you have change by the second. This is all fairly obvious I know. But accepting it. Accepting it all isn't exactly how you think it is. This is something most people find impossible to do. And understandably as well. We are brought up to believe we are what we think we are. Humans who walk the earth producing and consuming and maybe reproducing. As time went on things got more and more complicated. A normal day for the average person may contain a million complicated situations where they have to make precise, quick decisions. Even choosing lunch is something we take for granted. Remembering what everything tastes like and then deciding what you feel like. It isn't an easy thing to do. Anyway we are born in to a "rat race". It is hard enough living in this world little own contemplating the underlining fact that all this, all this junk - TV addicted, careerist bullshit, money making, war waging, killing, revolting, sexual desire, depression, frustration, insanity etc.. Is but a perception. I think the most anyone could ever achieve is simply accepting they are not right and regardless of their 10 years of political study, huge amount of reading, successful career, nice little family.. In fact all their life achievements and lessons that have created them and who they are in society. All of it is not definite. None of it really means jack shit. There is no set way to live. As long as you stay alive and possibly have a child you are achieving all you were ever meant to achieve, biologically anyway. So in my mind our greatest achievement is just accepting that nothing really matters and that we are not right.

However like I said before we have to live in the only reality we know. Either that or die. So we have to accept things to be real in our reality. They are not definite. But as far as we can perceive they exist. This doesnt mean we accept societys definites. On the contrary we begin to question everything. Not just basic shit like authority but social structure. Everything and anything must be questioned. There are no definites. Yes we must accept we are flesh and blood and the earth is solid. If we didn't accept these things we could not live. But society isn't just a perception. It is in a sense a perception of someone else's perception. People like you and me created society. Everything is someone's idea. It is not right. Someone had the idea that we should drive cars. It does not make it right. T.V is another idea. Doesn't mean you have to watch it 24/7.

OK so this is all fairly obvious to most people. And I tend to repeat myself a fair bit. But yeah I wasn't saying Paul that people make excuses because in a sense by not accepting reality for what it is. We are all making excuses. Mental problems exist because we perceive them to. Good luck trying to make them go away. A good friend of mine has schizophrenia. I wouldn't say to him.. Just ignore the voices and they will go away. After all they are only a perception. Not real. Because we have to make assumptions. And things that effect us as much as schizophrenia effects my friend are impossible to be seen as only a perception. Pain is another good example. Your arm is cut off. You bleed and it hurts like hell. If you leave it long enough you will eventually die. Whether we are alive in the first place is not the point. We feel love for those around us and for the environment we are in. Therefore we do not wish to die. So pain is real. I guess it comes down to things that effect you in the moment. Things that you truely feel. Emotion. This is as real as reality gets.

Anyway I have dribbled on for a bit too long.. Sorry for all the ranting crap... I'm sure it sounds 100 times more confusing to you all then it does to me.. I'm probably that insane that all this actually makes sense to me. Or perhaps it is just too many drugs. Whatever it is I hope my ranting makes for interesting reading.
