10/31 - you should know what holiday is celebrated today...
hAppy hALLOwEEn!!!
witch!i'm didn't really dress up. i wore this see-through sEE! black peasant top w/ a black tank top under. i guess it's sorta a modern "witch" look, so i guess i'm a witch this year. i sawsEE! several of the faculty @ UH-M dressed up for Halloween (a bee, kung-fu master, bar waitress, maid, etc.) LOL!. however, my day was dampened literally by the leaking that's been occurring from the roof of my house 'cause the roof is being redone, & the rainy weather have caused cracks in the uncovered roof. the cracks weren't so bad days ago, but yesterday was totally different. the cracks 1st showed up in 1 room in 1 particular area, but then crackstrick or treat?! began showing up in my room, the hallway, & the stairway. my mom & i moved almost everything out of my bro's room because the cracks caused water to drip all over the place during the rain !!. there's buckets & rags all over the floor w/ puddle of water everywhere. @ least the roof workers placed a tarp over the roof, but it's a little too late due to the damage it's already caused yups. inside the house. the top floor is a mess because of everything is covered up &bOO!! misplaced. hopefully the roof workers can hurry up & finish fixing the roof. the rest of my Halloween will consist of taking my bro out trick-or-treating & chilling in front of the t.v. w/ a haunted show or spooky movie on ... isn't Halloween a fun holiday to just scare yourself sh#tless ?? i think so. i absolutely love the chocolate candies that come along w/ it, too =). but some people are right when they say Halloween has lost it's historical factor, & has become too commerical. it's a shame shame, but it's still a fun holiday nonetheless.

10/27 - yesterday was quite a day yups.. i went to work @ the restaurant in the morning then came home early. i finished doing the laundry & hung it up to dry. then i did a little vacuuming in my room. all the while, i was trying to get my younger bro to get off his lazy butt to help tidy up the house. i was only partially successful. later on i made dinner, & took a break. earlier in the day i was watchingsEE! the movie Case of Evil on the USA network w/ my bro. i had seensEE! the 2nd half of the movie the night earlier while trying to fall asleepZZ... i thought it was interesting 'cause i've never seensEE! a movie 'bout the famous Sherlock Holmes before. quite an eye-openersEE! was the actorCase Of Evil (2002) playing the detective (damn hot! !!!!!)

Synopsis: Forget the stories youve heard 'bout Sherlock Holmes 'cause this is where the legend begins. The famous detective is not the mature hero & flawless detective depicted by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, but instead Londons new headline star. Holmes, in his early 20s, is arrogant, self-assured, & eager for publicity (especially after he "killed" Englands most wanted man--Professor Moriarty). But the young genius detective unknowingly got tricked by Professor Moriarty who faked his own death, thus having an unbreakable alibi to start a new criminal empire dealing heroin, which he invented. Holmes fail to protect the man who employed him--Harrington, 1 of the most important opium traders. W/ the help of his bro Mycroft, who's crippled by drugs from evil Professor Moriarty, starts after the dead Moriarty again. Alongside w/ sharp wits is Holmes' newfound friend Watson, a doctor-inventor. Together they track down Moriarty to fight him 1 last time. It ends in a lethal sword fight set in the Big Ben clock room still under construction @ the time. Moriarty falls to his death through the clock, & successfully solved was Sherlock Holmess 1st case, which began his legendary career.

Hercules (1997)10/25 - the highlight of my day was watchingsEE! the chinese version of the Disney animated-film Hercules in myChinese class 'cause the T.A. thought we needed a break due to the midterm exam we recently took--great ya =)? i thought the days of watchingsEE! movies in class was over once i was in college, but i was wrong. i got a kick watching sEE! Hercules spoken in Chinese. i've only watchedsEE! it once before in English, so i understood the story even though i couldn't understand more than 1/2 of everything said. the Chinese characters on the bottom of the screen sorta helped w/ my understanding, but not really. nonetheless, it was so enjoyable =) to watchsEE! Hercules & release some pent up stress. then there was a guest speaker in my pol sci class. he gave the most interesting lecture i've heard this fall semester 'bout Calvinist missionaries who came to Hawaii, & the "annexation of Hawaii". i was very englightened by what he said. i believe what he said has possibly made me looksEE! @ a certain issue in a possible new way yups..

10/24 - today i took the last midterm of all my classes, & i think i actually did pretty well. i just have this feeling i did alright, so now i can relax, sorta. tomorrow i have a quiz for Chinese, but that's about it. i definately will concentrate more on studying & attending my classes =). i've learned my lesson on procrastination yups.--i think think.. hopefully i can remember all my homeworkdying.. assignments & readings. i watchedsEE! the 2-part korean drama Picnic last night & tonight. wow wow!, what a tear-jerker whAA!!. i was balling whAA!! when the show ended tonight. this lady, In-Hae, has been taking care of her partially-paralyzed mother for the past 5 years, & has just learned she's dying of stomach cancer ... since she's in the final stage, there's no medical option left. meanwhile, she'sPicnic (2001) also dealing w/ her daughter who wants to move out on her own, & shack up w/ some guy she's "in love" w/, her son is bullied in school, & her husband has been growing distant through the years. her half-brother recently got married, & is dealing w/ his birth mother (the mistress). his mother abandoned him when his dad died, so the 1st wife took him in & raised him. he lookssEE! @ another woman as his mother, & @ his birth mother in discontent !!. In-Hae's younger sis is an accomplished dancer, but selfish & uncapable of taking care of the mom. In-Hae is sick & needs 1 of her siblings to take care of their mom, but all sorts of problems arises. in the end, the family sorts the problem out, & In-Hae dies in the arm of her mom. the drama was mostly 'bout the relationship of In-Hae & her mom--really emotional & touching.

10/23 - crap ... that's what i'm feeling right now. i totally screwed up on my Phil midterm. i was only able to finish 2 1/3 essays ... i didn't even finish writing my 3rd essay !!!!! crap..crap..crap. ugh !!! after Phil i rushed over to my Chinese class to find out i got a C for the midterm. not bad i guess .... @ least the T.A. was teaching today & reviewed the exam. i find the class much more enjoyable when he's teaching 'cause he's not as intimidating. then i had my Pol Sci class after that.Loving You (2002) then i went down to the restaurant, & now i'm home to study for my ling midterm for a couple of hours. soon i gotta pick up my older sis. then i'll be taking a break from studying to watchsEE! the korean dramas on t.v., & this week it's the beginning of 2 2! new shows. the 1 on Mon. & tues. is Loving You. that wasn't bad--i think i like it yups.. although the show looks quite predictable, but more interesting to watchsEE! than the drama showing before it. those were boringZZzz... then today & tomorrow is Picnic. &, of course, i'll also be studying =). i'm gonna be a good girl .....hee hee LOL!!!

10/21 - ah, finally i'm in !!! after trying to get in gurLpages for the past 2 2! weeks, it finally worked this time. lots of things have happened in those weeks, & i've been writing my entries on notepad. i'll put those up when i get the time. enoughschOOL... =( 'bout that, today i had my Chinese midterm oral exam, & i totally got screwed. i'm alright when it comes to writing the characters & reading the pinyin, but i totally suck [sniff sniff] when it comes to speaking. i don't comprehend the chinese that's spoken & respond quickly. i'm incredibly slow when it comes to that & structuring my sentences. it's so frustrating .. 'cause i can say it in my head fine, but saying it out loud is difficult 'cause i find myself stuttering & crap. aahh ah!!!!!! tomorrow i have the written part of my Chinese midterm. hopefully i'll do better than today. besides that, i also went to my philosophy discussion class for the first time in many weeks. hee hee LOL!...i'm so naughty, spank me =). [sigh ..] i've got that midterm this Wed., & my linguistics midterm on Thurs.. that's enough stress to last me until finals roll around. the good thing is that i got a B for my Pol Sci 110 midterm. not bad ya? well, i should go study my Chinese now...Zaijian =)!

Sweet & Sour Night10/20 - i'm extemely tired ... i worked this morning @ the restaurant, & went home early to study for my Chinese oral exam. last night i went down to Capriccossa in Waikiki for my cousin's b-day dinner w/ our friends. the food was fine, but the service kinda sucked ... oh well. then i decided to go w/ the rest of my friends to Pipeline for Sweet & Sour Night. before my friendsthAt's mE.. & i went down there, we went to Gyotaku to wait for another friend to get off work. we hung out in the parking lot for awhile just sitting around & chatting=) before we finally went down to Pipeline. @ 1st the dance floor was empty, & the club was freezing cold. i think 'bout 20 or 30 mins. later the DJ finally started playing some good music, & the dance floor slowly got packed. in the beginning he played kinda crappy yups. hawaiian-hip hoppish music, them he finally began playing good, dance-grinding hip-hop songs. i had a blast =). it's been an extremely long time since i've been to a club. we stayed there 'til 1:30 a.m. before we headed down to McCully's Zippy's to get a breath of fresh air 'cause a friend was having a breathing problem due to the smoke in the club. we hung out & chatted =) for 'bout an hour or so before we all parted ways. i had a really good time =).

10/17 - today is my Cousin's 19th birthday, so...

hAppy birthdAy!! happy birthday!!!

10/12 - whew !!! it's 9:41 p.m. & i just took a much needed bath after having worked @ the restaurant for hours. i woke up early @ 6 a.m. to get ready for a political endorsement rally for the gubernatorial office by the Southeast Asian-American Coalition. yesterday my older sis asked if my bro wanted to go to the rally today, & if i wanted to go w/ him. he wanted toLingle for Governor go, & i went along to chaperone him. the event took place in Kahuku (on the other side of the island from Honolulu where i reside) w/ Republican gubernatorial candidate Linda Lingle & her running mate Duke Aiona for Lieutenant governor making a speech. i went down there w/ my dad's friend to meet & hear Linda Lingle speak. boy was the ride to Kahuku long yes!. it took us a little over an hour to get there & find the place. i found the whole ordeal fun & exciting =). we literally circled the island going there & coming back. i felt like a tourist on a sight-seeingsEE! tour just taking in the entire beautiful scenery of Hawaii's countryside. the shoreline of Oahu (including North Shore & Waimea Beach), the steep cliffs & mountain ranges of the Ko'olau, & the Polynesian Cultural Center are some places i sawsEE! on the ride. i rarely travel out of the city, & seeingsEE! it was immensely exciting & wonderful !!! though i've seensEE! it tons of time before when my relatives would come down for a visit. it's been a long time since i've ventured out of the city, & it was very refreshing pEAcE!.

10/10 - yipee yEA!!...my friends came to eat @ the restaurant today!!! i'm totally caught up w/ the things going on w/ our group. i did learning some shocking !! news 'bout some people i know. wow !!, i sure do miss a lot of things when i don't seesEE! them for weeks. they invited me to go out tonight 'cause they don't have school tomorrow--those lucky bums. i might go out w/ them this weekend, but we'll have to wait & seesEE!. overall, today has a been okay. i've got another Chinese chapter test tomorrow, & i still gotta study for my pol sci midterm. Aahhh!!!--the stress of being a college student w/ family obligations!! sometimes i wish i could run away, & not have to worry worry. 'bout it. i wish i was rich living the good life of traveling, seeingsEE! the world, & expanding my mind. maybe it'll come 1 day, but i can only dream of it now. do you think i'll ever feel content w/ life soon ????

10/08 - wow !!!, i got a surprise today. while i was working @ the restaurant, i got 2 phone calls from somebody in Waikiki asking where the restaurant is located, & how they can get down. then i find out it was my guy cousin from San Francisco. i was in the kitchen when i heard the restauraunt's door open, so i came out to say hi =) to the customers. what i sawsEE! was my cousin & his girlfriend smiling =) in front of my cashier counter. i was completely flustered ..., & was like "what !!! ?! huh? what's going on ??". all i could say to him was, "what are you doing here ?? am i in the right state ???" for that 1 moment, i thought i was in San Fran.. i called my mom, who's in the kitchen, to seesEE! who was out front to confirm what i was sawsEE!. then i returned to the front to seesEE! my San Fran uncle & aunt come into the restaurant. everything suddently felt like a dream & unreal yEs.. i couldn't seem to get myself to believe what was actually happening. it had been 2 years since i last sawsEE! them when i went to visit them during spring break of my senior year in high school to also check out the Univ. of San Fran. campus. ironically, when my aunt, younger sis, i visited them, we did the same thing he did =). my Oakland relatives didn't tell our San Fran relatives 'bout our visit, & had us knock on their door asking for our guy cousin. the 1 who answered the door was the guy who married his sis, & he hadn't seensEE! us since he came for his honeymoon a decade ago. then he recognized my aunt & the Oakland relatives which were in the back laughingLOL! their heads off. after we came in to the house, we entered his room which the San Fran relatives just hanging out. when they sawsEE! us they just said "hi" hi! thinking we were their bro's friends. then 1 of my cousins was like, "wait, aren't you supposed to be in hawaii ???". it was hilariousLOL! when they finally realized who we were. my relatives are in town for a week. hopefully they'll seesEE! a lot of Hawaii before they go home.

mE studying..10/07 - this morning i went to school, & then to check on my younger bro @ home. after that i rushed down to the restaurant 'cause it was busy only to rush back home 1/2 an hour later 'cause these men came to take our old refridgerator away. i had locked my bro inside the house, so they had no nopes. way of getting in. lol LOL!...i forgot to give my him the house keys. when i got home those men left already, & never returned even though they were informed i came home to open the door for them. oh well. they're the 1 who wanted to take the refridgerator, not my family. later i went to pick up my older sis early 'cause she's sick [cough], & i've been home ever since. i was studying Chinese earlier--which was probably the most studying i've done this entire semester so far =). although, i was also watchingi'm wAtching.. the 2nd part of the A&E movie The Lost World while i was studying. i watchedwAtchEd! most of the 1st part last night twicetwice!, & today was the conclusion. it's full of dinosaurs, indians, action, adventure, & a bit of romance Ooh..LOvE.. The Lost World is based on a book written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, & the movie was wonderfully 2 thumbs up. made. @ 1st i thought thought.. it'd be boring boring., but i was absolutely wrong yup.. now i'm comtemplating hmm.. whether or not i should try reading theThe Lost World (2002) book. hmm..should i ???

Synopsis: Based on the writings of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle which have had readers, scholars, & conspiracy theorists debate for decades whether or not The Lost World is based on an actual event allegedly occurred in the Belgian Congo. @ the turn of the century, an expedition is led by brilliant, combative Professor George Challenger from London along w/ Professor Leo Summerlee, journalist Edward Malone, adventurer Lord John Roxton, missionary priest Reverend Theo Kerr, & the reverend's orphaned niece Agnes Cluny. He leads them through the Amazon jungles where prehistoric creatures are rumored to have survived in a forgotten, remote plateau. Not only are dinosaurs found & confronted, but also highly evolved apes & Amazonian Indians who think Challenger is a god. The thrill of discovery is quickly overshadowed by a desperate struggle for survival. After much excitement, love is found in unexpected places, & the confrontion of civilization by the Royal Society in London brings Challenger to change his story.

10/05 - it's another saturday night of me doing nothing, but chill @ home in front of the t.v. watchingwAtching t.v. korean dramas ... my older sis did invite me to tag along w/ her & her friend to Pipeline for Sweet & Sour Night, but i'm not nOpE. in the moodhmm..just pOndEring.. to go out dancing in a crowded room filled w/ smoke & drunks. i love LOvE! to go dancing, but i haven't been in the mood to stay out really late 'cause i work tomorrow morning. actually it's in the evening tomorrow, but i'm still not nOpE. in the mood. hmmph ... how can i get out of my funk ??? i've been feeling lonely LOnELy. lately. not nOpE. having a significant other can get to me once in awhile, especially since i'm surrounded by friends who's got no problems meeting guys or they already have 1. it's not so easy for me to just get out there & meet a random guy. i don't have the confidence to walk up to a guy, & start talking to him. i sometimes feel pathetic knowing i'm the only 1 out of my group of friends who ain't got a guy yup.. well there's another 1, but she definately has no problem w/ guys falling for her all the time. everytime i turn around, i hear another guy has the hots for her yup.. geez, what about me !!?! nah, i'm secure being by myself, but it'd still be nice to have someone else out there to share my thoughts, etc. w/, you know what i mean ??? oh well. my friend keeps telling me the time will come, but i'd like to know when that time is......

10/02 - Halloween will be here in a couple of more weeks. since it's October, i've got midterms in the coming weeks. AaahhhAAAH!!!!!! before i worry 'bout that, i've got something to rant 'bout & get off my chest. i wrote in an earlier entry 'bout the death of U.S. Representative Patsy Mink. before her death .., she was running for re-election. even though she died, her name is still on the ballot in the upcoming General Election in November. Hawaii's Democratic Party are encouraging voters to vote continue voting for Patsy Mink to honor her death & the things she's done for the people. i have a big problem w/ that. why would i want to vote for someone who's dead ??? does that make sense !!?! i'm sure i can honor Patsy Mink in many other ways than to vote for her. i mean, what exactly can she do for me now that she's dead ..? i as a voter have the responsibility of listening to both sides of the spectrum, & to decided who i think will be best for the position. if Patsy Mink is dead, how can she campaign & tell me what she can do hmm..? if Patsy Mink wins in the General Election, then a special election will be held to vote for a replacement, but that'll cost taxpayers million. isn't that outrageous !! for voting in a dead person as the U.S. Representative !!?! i think it is yes.--especially since there'll be a special election soon to find a person to fill her position now although there's only 5 weeks left before the session is adjourned. that too will cost taxpayers million. the Democratic Party are all for the special election--gee, maybe it's because you don't wanna lose the seat to a Republican, & you're not the 1 left w/ the bill. hmm hmm....where exactly will the million come from if the state's already strapped..? w/ a war against Iraq looming over our heads, do i really wanna go through such a hassle to get a person who can represent me in the Congress ..? my views agree w/ an article i read today written by Lee Cataluna (<--click to read the article) of the Honolulu Advertiser on the subject. it's also been 1 year since i started this journal. whoo hoo!!!

pumpkins 4 sALE!! Oooh..pumpkins!! bOO!! rOsEs fOr mE?!!
