- work was quite busy, but it also had its slow times. luckily i was able to finally get my 1st & 2nd express credit for May today just 30 mins. before closing. however, the end of May is just a couple of days away, so my stats for getting express credits are really pathetic. my manager was putting the pressure on me to get express credits these past couple of days, so now i should be off her sh** list for a while. besides that, i'm working early tomorrow morning @ Macy's--that's a 1st since i've only been scheduled for afternoon & evening shifts. then again, it's Memorial weekend, so there's a big sale & lots of people should be @ the mall on their way to the beach. let's all hope i can open more express credits to get extra moola in my wallet . |

- i may not have written in days, but i do have lots of things to write about. 1st i wanna talk about my movie night w/ Shan, her bf Eric, & his friend. well, there wasn't much talkin' happening that night except for after the movie was over & we were on our way home. however, i had an excellent night w/ them anyways. the movie i watched w/ them was the newly-released Troy starring Brad Pitt, Eric Bana, Orlando Bloom, & Peter O'Toole. yes , there were quite a lot of hotties in short skirts for me to look @ while watching Troy--especially my husband Orlando Bloom. Troy was a very entertaining action flick w/ lots of warfare going on. some of the scenes didn't make sense to me, but the plot was strong. i very much enjoyed watching Troy. it certainly was worth my $9. Synopsis: The movie adaptation of Homer's sprawling tale of love & war in ancient Greece. In 1193 B.C., Paris, Prince of Troy, falls in love w/ a beautiful Greek woman. However, that woman is Helen, Queen of Sparta, who's married to King Menelaus. While Helen is hardly immune to Paris' charms that doesn't lessen Menelaus' fury when Paris convinces Helen to secretly leave Sparta & go home w/ him--just after he & his older brother Hector made peace w/ Menelaus. Menelaus' brother Agamemnon is the power-hungry king of the Mycenaeans. He is eager to expand his Greek empire through Troy to the bands of the Aegean Sea, & uses Menelaus' wife as an excuse to wage an all-out war against Troy. Priam, King of Troy, summons his armies, led by Prince Hector, to meet the onslaught of Menelaus' & Agamemnon's forces. While the great walled city has yet to yield in a battle, Agamemnon has a formidable ally--Achilles, a mighty & seemingly unstoppable warrior whose presence could tip the scales in Agamemnon's favor. Achilles is the greatest hero among the Greeks, & Prince Hector is the fiercest warrior among the Trojans, who also embodies the hope of the people of his city. Who & which side will end up on top in the end?(found & altered from blockbuster.com & imdb.com) okie, now i wanna talk 'bout my outing yesterday w/ the girls. yesterday Brandi came to pick me up, w/ Shan already in the car, @ 'bout 11 a.m.. we headed down to Gyotaku for lunch, & to say, "hi!" to Tara who was workin' @ the time. lol , i went back to eating Oyaku-jyo today. while eating there, Brent came down to hang out w/ us. Brandi, Shan, & i had a great conversation there (Brent was a bit quite through out), & then went to cruise @ Ala Moana Shopping Center for 'bout 2 hrs. while we wait to pick up Tara from Gyotaku. there was a very interesting event that happened as Shan & i walked past Genki Sushi, but i'd rather not go any further than that. well, we ended up spending the rest of our time @ the Mai Tai Bar talking some more. later we picked up Tara & was on our way to Circuit City so Brandi can buy some dvds. after that, we went to hang out @ Pearlridge & then to Anna Miller's for some pie. then we went back into town, & ended up @ Ward--especially inside Nordstrom Rock. finally, after that, we all went home. it was a fun-filled day of hanging out w/ my girls....just chatting & catching up w/ each others' lives. goodness , i can't believe how we were able to spend the day talking 'bout so much stuff. |

- i just got home not too long ago after spending some quality time w/ my wonderful friends (Brandi, Tara, & Shan). my dinner date w/ Brandi & Tara was the 1st time i got together w/ them since January. we ate @ Gyotaku where they work. i ate tonkatsu-jyu, which was very delicious . we had an enjoyable dinner getting updated on each others' lives. after dinner i mentioned to Tara 'bout Shan finally getting a cell phone, & then i gave it to her 'cause she didn't have it. i also told her 'bout Shan having already returned to Hawaii or was going to soon. then Tara decided to give Shan a call even if she was still up in Colorado. as it turns out, Shan was @ the airport when Tara called, & had landed in Hawaii not too long ago. ain't that so cool ? later on we met up w/ Shan in front of her house. it was a wonderful reunion !!! we haven't seen her since last summer, & i haven't called her as frequently as i wanted to. i think we'll be getting together again this coming Tuesday. lol , i can't wait !!! but now i wanna talk about the movie The Inheritance which i saw this afternoon on the WE channel. i've seen The Inheritance several times before, but this time i realized several things. i couldn't believe the corny things that were said between the characters, nor the storyline. The Inheritance is such an over-romanticized, melodramatic movie based on Louisa May Alcott's book of the same name. watch the movie @ your own risk. it's only bearable if you're a hopeless romantic willing to forgo the corniness of the storyline. Synopsis: The movie adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's The Inheritance. Beautiful Edith Adelon is an orphan raised as an "almost" daughter to Tom Hamilton & his wife Beatrice, & a companion & tutor to their daughter Amy. Though Edith's parentage is a mystery, she has found great happiness w/ the Hamiltons, & is technically their servant--but treated more like family. then 1 day Edith runs into a stranger, & there seems to be an attraction between them. it later turns out the stranger was James Percy, a man of societal prominence, that'll be staying @ the Hamiltons for the upcoming horse raceing competition. When the family's cousin Ida comes to visit, Mrs. Hamilton enlists Edith in a matchmaking plan involving 2 suitors for Ida. However, both men fall for the lovely Edith. 1 of the men is James Percy whom had met Edith by chance before arriving @ the Hamiltons. Their run in shows an instant attraction between the 1. However, when Ida sees her chances fade of a match, she schemes to discredit Edith. Will Ida's accusations be enough to dissolve the family's trust in Edith? Or is there a secret that'll change everything? |

- in the past, i never really followed the American Idol show. i only liked the watch the funny auditions of horrible singers who really believe they have talent. however, American Idol held auditions in Hawaii for this year's show, so i've been watching on a regular basis to support the locals. lol, but i haven't gone as far as voting. but w/ the recent controversy of La Toya London being the next contestant kicked off American Idol, i gotta rant 'bout it 'cause i'm irked by comments blaming Hawaii for kicking off the fav. contestant people had projected would win American Idol. okay...Jasmine Trias is obviously not the best singer compared to La Toya London, Fantasia Barrino, or Diana DeGarmo. however, she's not a horrible singer either--just young & possibly not too experienced yet. i can't believe all the blame American Idol fans are throwing @ my beloved state Hawaii. so what if the people here are voting for their local girl Jasmine Trias to remain in the American Idol contest? so are the people in the home state of La Toya, Fantasia, & Diana. come on folks, get w/ the program. the point of American Idol is for the American public to vote for their fav. singer or the most talented singer in the American Idol show. if you want the singer you're rooting for to stay on the show & win the record contract, you gotta get off your butt & call like crazy to help them get huge amounts of votes. if you're not doing that then stop complaining. Jasmine Trias got more votes than La Toya no matter what the reasons were used for people to vote for her--even if they were pity votes. it's as simple as that. if La Toya fans are pissed off a better singer was kicked off, it's simply 'cause people weren't voting for her as feverishly as the others voting for her competitors. & please don't go blaming the entire state of Hawaii for kicking off La Toya. the people of this beautiful state wasn't the only one who voted for Jasmine. goodness people, it doesn't make sense that 1 of the least populous state in the U.S. (w/ just about a pop. of 1 million peeps) was able to vote so much that it kept Jasmine out of the bottom 2. hello...La Toya is from California--1 of the most populous & biggest state in the U.S.. do you really think Hawaii was able to beat them in votes?? plus, what's up w/ all the racist theory that's popping up as to why La Toya & Jennifer Hudson got kicked off American Idol??? that is a bunch of b***s****. a bunch of white people were getting kicked off earlier in the American Idol show, & that wasn't a problem until blacks began getting kicked off. for goodness sakes, wake up & stop being stupid. American Idol isn't just a competition to find a great singer & catapult them in to stardom. it's also to find a great personality under it all--wrapped up into a great package. the American public votes for their "next idol" for whatever reasons, & that is happening no matter how you hate the ultimate results. as much as i hate the blame that is being thrown to Hawaii for simply supporting their local girl, i'm humbled or maybe intrigued by the fact that people in the mainland thinks Hawaii had such power to have affected the outcome of an American Idol result while many mainlanders believe people in Hawaii live in grass shacks, wears coconut bras & rafia hula skirts, & spends most of their time surfing. |

Happy Belated 21st Birthday Anna !!! thanks for inviting me to your dinner & to your hotel party. i'm relieved you liked you b-day gift. i was stressing 'bout whether or not you'd like it or if it'd suit you. ....this past week was hectic . full of work & school. the friends & family discount @ Macy's really kept me busy @ work. so much people were buying Coach & Dooney & Bourke handbags that i didn't get a chance to go on any of my 10 min. breaks (except for my 1 hour lunch break). i was scheduled to work today, but i called in sick 'cause i'm not feeling well today. i've got my Chinese oral exam tomorrow morning, & i haven't studied for it yet. i'm hoping to be able to get through it like the last oral exam i had. wish me luck peeps !! |
