12/31 - what a bad day i've been having this New Year's Eve.  sheesh, are the higher beings trying to get all the crap that's been happening out of the way, so i'll finally get some damn happiness  this coming 2003  ?!  all the bad began @ the restaurant when i accidently tipped my glass of lemonade over.  i broke the glass & had lemonade all over my skirt.  it looked like i just peed in my pants--funny  huh ?...so my mom sent me home.  then when i was getting the mail, the kids that were playing w/ firecrackers lit the Christmas tree laying next to the trash bin on fire.  i'm about 15 feet away from the huge fire, but i could feel the heat.  then later when i went to pick up my older sis, i accidently left my keys in the ignition when i went on the search for a pay phone.  yups, i locked myself out of the car.  plus, my older sis went home early, so she came w/ the van to pick me up.  now i've got a headache, & all i'm hearing is pop pop pop from all the firecrackers being played in my neighborhood.  that's your typical New Year's Eve celebration here.  i'll be watching  my younger bro play w/ his firecrackers a little later.  i'm going to side track for a little now.  the championship game for the Rainbow Classic w/ the UH men's b-ball team yesterday against Butler was amazing.  the game went down to the wire w/ Carl English making 2 clutch 3-pointers to put UH into overtime w/ a very good Butler.  and, of course, the UH men's basketball team prevailed & won.  that was a great game.  alright everybody, make your resolutions.  i hope you have the strength & discipline to go through w/ them.  have a very, Happy New Year !!!  or as it would be in Mandarin Chinese--Xinnian Kuaile !


12/30 - it's been a crummy  day.  as of right now, i can honestly say my life completely sucks.  the only time i felt some happiness  was when my friends dropped by the restaurant for lunch, & just now when i was chatting w/ a friend on the phone.  being w/ my friends @ the restaurant for those 1 1/2 hours was a good escape from my misery.  i'm feeling so yucky that i've decided not to attend my friend's New Year's Eve party.  right now, i'd feel better laying in my comfy bed watching  Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve on t.v.  reflecting on the past year makes me sad  to rehash all the horrible events that's gone on.  oh gosh, so much has happened in this year alone compared to all the other years i've been alive.  i welcome the end of 2002 & the beginning of 2003 hoping more good than bad will happen for me.  i can't believe all that's happened.  i wish they were nightmares from a bad dream, but they're not.  okie, i'm gonna get off all those bad memories, & talk 'bout the good memories like yesterday night.  once again, my friends & i went to Ward theater to watch  2 Weeks Notice.  i must be on a roll watching good movies because 2 Weeks Notice was wonderful.  Hugh Grant was so funny  & looks  great for his age.  i might just add him as a future husband .  Sandra Bullock was great, hilarious , & cute.  overall, 2 Weeks Notice was enjoyable every minute--definately a must-see .

12/27 - 2003 is only days away now.  have you all made New Year's Eve plans ?  as of right now, i'll be celebrating the coming of the New Year @ my friend's house, but i'm still not sure how i'll get home since she lives so far from me.  she offered me an option, but i don't wanna be a burden on anyone.  anyways, yesterday was the day after Christmas, which mean a lot of people were @ the mall returning/exchanging gifts.  i went down to Ala Moana yesterday, but it was briefly to help my older sis pick out a watch for the guy she's been seeing  'cause his b-day is 2 weeks away. later on in the evening i went out w/ my friends to watch Drumline, which was a really good movie--1 of the most entertaining movies i've seen  in a long time @ the theater.  it was interesting how it covered the aspects of the collegiate marching band.  kinda strange watching  Nick Cannon from the Nickolodeon channel playing an arrogant thug, & comedian Orlando Jones playing a serious  band director.  wow , the people in Marching bands aren't as dorky as i thought--gotta give them credit for being so talented & athletic to dance & march while playing in sync.
Synopsis: Spotlighted is the unheralded "show-style" university marching bands popular @ traditionally Southern Black campuses. 12/23 - whoo hoo !!  my friend Shan is back from Colorado for Winter break , & we went out last night to the theatre to watch  Harry Potter & the Chambers of Secrets.  it was great seeing her again after so many months.  i missed her so much while she was away .  it's great how she can go away for school & then return w/o it ever feeling like she ever left.  ain't that wonderful ?  i guess you know you're great friends when that happens.  now on to the movie.  i didn't want to watch Harry Potter but Shan did; therefore, we watched Harry Potter for her.  ha ha ..i slept  through some of the movie 'cause it was getting boring .  sorry to the Harry Potter fans, i just don't understand what's so great 'bout it. my other friends also napped  through some parts of the movie as well--aren't we so naughty ?  
Synopsis: Harry Potter's adventure continues as he returns to Hogwarts School of Wizardry for his 2nd year.  Before the returns, he's visited by Dobby, a house-elf, & warned not to go back.  Harry ignores the warning &  escapes to the Weasley house w/ Ron in a flying car.  Harry's still famous & disliked by Snape, Malfoy, & the rest of the Slytherins. Harry & his friends then set out to find the culprit, but they find more than they've bargained for--especially the diary of Tom Riddle, why Hagrid was expelled, what the Chamber of Secrets is, & why is it so feared in Hogwarts.after the movie, we met up w/ 2  other friends @ Zippy's.  geez, we always end up there every time we go out.  we stayed there for awhile chatting, & then later exchanging x-mas gifts.  i've realized that as you get older, you no longer wait 'til it's Christmas to open your presents, or even care if you get any 'cause you're too busy getting gifts for others.  well, that could be just how i feel .  but yeah..i drove last night w/ my older sister's car.  that was the 1st time i did that when going out w/ my friends.  it's much more convienant instead of bumming a ride from someone else 'cause i always felt like a burden when i go out w/ my friends since i gotta ask 1 of them for a ride home [sorry, i don't have a car alright!]  whereas the other cars had 2 people, mines had just me--i'm so lonely .  when does my prince charming arrive ?  well, the countdown is beginning.  tomorrow is Christmas Eve.  just 1 1/2 days left before Christmas !!!


12/20 - today is my dad's b-day, soo..... Happy birthday Daddy!!! 
      plus, i took my last final exam this morning, too.  whew [wiping sweat  off forehead]..!  i'm so glad  that's over & done w/.  i can finally concentrate on finishing my friends' x-mas gifts.  here's more great  news: my friend Shan is back  !!!  then while i was driving home from the restaurant, after celebrating my dad's b-day w/ the family w/ a b-day cake, i gazed  @ the beautiful, bright, full moon.  just looking @ the moon made me feel that maybe everything is going to turn out fine & i don't have to worry  soo much.  w/ the bright, glorious moon, maybe there's hope that there's soo much out there left for me to experience, so i shouldn't be so gloomy .  but let me end this entry on a happy  & funny  note.  i got a letter from my medical insurance company w/ An Important Checkup! written boldly @ the top.  the rest of the letter went like this:

     Your baby has arrived & it's a wonderful & exciting time for you & your family.  While you are busy enjoying & caring for
your baby, don't forget to take care of yourself too.
     Your doctor has told you when you need to be seen again for a post partum check up.  This usually happens between 3

can you believe that letter?!  when i 1st read it, i was like..what the hell?!  but it's soo ridicuously  funny   i'm the fricken virgin Mary.  i've never been pregnant--that's so absurd !  so i absolutely have never given birth to any child ever in my life, & i don't need a post partum check-up.  geez, who's stealing my identity ????


12/18 - [sigh]...i woke up very early this morning to take my Chinese final.  it went so-so .  it wasn't that bad, but i don't think  i did too well.  i guess i should pray for (@ highest) a C.  realistically speaking, i'm quite sure i'll end up getting a D for that class.  you win some & you lose some.  now i have a day break from studying, but i gotta start right back up for the last 1, which is the most important of all my exams.  i don't wanna flunk a class for the 1st time in life.  please let me pass!


12/17 - whew !  i took my ling 102 final this morning.  i actually got a lot of studying done yesterday even though i took a little break to watch  the Pearl Harbor dvd i borrowed from the library (synopsis later).  but i did sorta study while watching  it.  after all, it's 1 of my fav. movies.  strangely i feel confident i did quite well on the exam since a lot of the questions were from the midterm exam & quizzes.  before the exam, the professor gave the class a print-out of our grades for everything (except the final exam, of course).  i'm getting a B so far.  whoo hoo !  hopefully it'll stay that way.  realistically, i doubt i aced the exam, but that's a great  improvement from the 1st grade print-out which showed i was getting a D, then a C after the midterm, & now it's a B.  i'm proud of myself for having boosted up my ling grade.  as for my pol sci paper, it went alright.  i'm confident i'll get a B for the class. my Chinese final tomorrow morning @ 7:30 a.m.--can you believe how early that is  ?! hopefully i'll be able to get my a$$ out of bed early enough to prep for the exam.  then my phil 101 final is @ 7:30 a.m. on Fri.--giving me a couple extra days to study.  i'm going to pray really hard to all the higher beings in the world to help me get a C or maybe even a B for the exam.  i gonna studying hard, too.  do you think it'll work ???

12/11 - wow, UH-Manoa men's basketball player Carl English  is on the cover of Midweek!!  he's so mouth-watering handsome  !!  he's my fav. UH basketball player.  but don't think i started watching  the games because of him.  i was a fan years before he joined the team.  damn, the pics of him in Midweek was amazing  [me drooling now], & he looks even better in person.  just thinking of him makes my heart pitter patter faster...hee hee !  okaay..enough 'bout my little crush on Carl English.  i've got my Chinese oral exam tomorrow, but i'll study for it later 'cause i have to finish writing my project summary for Ling 102. i'm so glad  tomorrow is the last day of school, which mean finals are days away--can you believe that ?! how well i do on the finals will determine my final grades.  if i bomb my phil 101 final--i'll flunk the class !!  the pressure is on now.  i must study my a$$ from now 'til next Fri..  pray for my everybody..i'll need it a lot!!!


12/09 - it's been quite a day.  The fall semester is winding down & finals are next week.  my chinese oral & reading exams are this week, & there's a pol sci paper to work on.  then today while driving to pick up my younger bro from school, i got a flat tire .  i was 2 blocks away from my brother's school when i heard a pop, but the car felt fine while i driving.  i knew there was a possibility the "pop" came from the tire, but i wanted to get to my bro's school to check it out.  The rear's right tire was completely flat, so i then called my dad.  he came to the school & changed the flat w/ a spare.  It was a nail that punctured the tire .  my dad tried to get the tire repaired, but it didn't work.  when i picked up my older sis, we went to Sears Auto Center to buy 2 new tires & get them installed.  the installation took an hour, so we cruised around the mall.  i saw  lots of great things, but i have no $$ .  oh well.  however, @ the T&C store i recognized a guy in my POL SCI class, who barely ever attends, working there, & the arrogant guy from my Chinese class was shoppping in the store.  my bro went to check out the hats, so i followed him only to quickly see  the figure of the arrogant guy from my Chinese class.  i< pretended to not notice he was standing 6 feet away from the hat selection 'cause i was looking  @ the hat wall the entire time i was walking there.  i wasn't expecting him to say 'hi' , but he did which  surprised  me.  in class, he sometimes give me the "how could you not know the answer to that?!" look  when my response in Chinese to the professor was wrong.  i never thought he was an a$$ or jerk...it's just that he gives off this "i'm so good." attitude in class 'cause his Chinese is good.  maybe he's not such a bad guy after all, but then again i tend to be a snob myself sometimes.  i don't mean to be a snob.  sometimes i see  my classmates around campus or other places, & i hesitate to say "hi"  'cause i'm kinda shy & don't know if they'll remember who the heck i am or even care .  when i see  people i know, i tend to pretend i didn't see  them by looking  else where or avoiding the area they're in so they won't see  me.  hee hee , ain't i soo horrible ....spank me!!


12/07 - it's saturday & my older sis went camping w/ her sorority.  i just came home from the restaurant 'cause my bro accidently locked himself out of the house when he went to get the mail...hee hee . now i'm chilling on the computer chatting  w/ my e-mail buddy from germany.  aye, i've got finals coming up which totally sucks .  i know i should begin studying & working on my final paper for pol sci, but it's hard to concentrate 'cause the weather is so beautiful right now .  i look  outside my window & i wish i could go out shopping w/ my friends, or maybe go to the beach.  i don't know.  i just wanna do an outdoor activity, but i'm couped up inside "on-call" to work @ the restaurant.  my bro is going camping w/ his 6th grade class next weekend--so lucky.  i wanna do that again .  i went to Camp Erdman in 6th grade too, & had so much fun & happy 
memories from it.  it was the 1st time i was away from my family on an overnight trip.  my friends & i still talk 'bout Camp Erdman from time to time .  well, today is the 61st anniversary of the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor.  it's time for Americans to look  back & reflect  upon a very important event in the U.S. history.  thank you to all the U.S. military men & women stationed all over the world protecting our country & our freedom.  i hope you return home safely.


12/05 - oh my god.  i saw  Carl English & Phil Martin today !!  [sigh] Carl English is sooo handsome !  when i saw  him, he sneezed & it wasn't a pretty picture after hearing the mucus.  that sorta made my day.  plus, my presentation for my ling 102 class went well .  i think it's safe to say i'll be passing that class if i don't bomb the final exam.  all that's left for me to do is the summary, & work on my final paper for pol sci.  then it'll be study, study, study, & more studying for me!!


12/03 - this is what i did today: go to school, work @ the restaurant, help my older sis get things for her camping trip this weekend, pick up my younger bro, & now doing this @ home before i do my HW.  i'm soo tired , & such a procrastinator.  let me mention a very important event that occured yesterday @ Hawaii's State Capitol.  the event was the historic inauguration ceremony of Republican Linda Lingle as Hawaii's 1st woman governor, & former judge Duke Aiona as lieutenant governor.  as it's been repeated over & over again in Hawaii, it's the transition of a new beginning.  Democrats have controlled the governorship for 40 years, & now it's a Republican.  stressed in the inauguration speech that she'll restore trust in government, expanding the economy, & improve public education.  i hope she'll follow thru w/ her promises because things need to get better in Hawaii.  it's sad  to see so many people have to leave Hawaii for better jobs & opportunities.  now it's time to give those people a reason to return, & the future generation to remain.  is Gov. Lingle feeding the people "candy" for power, or will she actually bring the "gold" we've all been waiting for ?  that's my creative analogy, & i'm hoping for the latter.  i hope her governorship will bring the new beginning she's promised because it'll make the state shine through the rain .  oh yeah, before i forget.  my friends  came down to the restaurant to eat today.  i spent the time sitting w/ them & chatting up a storm.  i love it when they visit me.


12/02 - ah, the long Thanksgiving weekend is over, & it's back to school.  there's 2 weeks of school left before finals & then winter break.  1st day back to school & i bombed my Chinese chapter test.  ain't that great ?!  yeah yeah..i'm stupid .  now i gotta work on my ling 102 project & paper & my final paper for pol sci--soo much school work for me .  but before i get myself to concentrate on all that work...let me do something first.  hee hee ..look @ my pic on the right?  now i know why people say blondes have all the fun .  don't i look great  as a blonde ???  it's my guilty pleasure of wanting to be that strange  Asian girl w/ blonde hair.now my wish has come true.  so...what do you think   ha ha ha ha !!!!  LOAN has gone crazy!!!  everybody...go run & hide!!!  the disease is infectious!!!
