1
- You
will be doing research using the Internet.
You'll
be assigned to a team of 4 students. Change roles every 10
minutes.

- Choose
your two regions from the box on my desk. Find
the maps
for your regions
and print them out. Go
to the links of your regions to begin your research. Be sure to
use the information given in the checklist
for
your notes. Print the checklist and any information you want from
the web pages.
- When
you have linked to a certain site and want to return to this page,
click on the back button in the upper left corner of the
screen.
- Use
these links for additional information.
Week 2 - You will be using
your printouts to take notes for each region.
- Using your notes,
compare and contrast the two regions, and as a group decide which
one would be the better place to visit.
- Contact an
e-pal
in each of your regions and ask them about the places where they
live. Log in in the upper left corner. See me for our user name
and password.
- Create a rough draft
for your brochure.
- Have each person choose
one of the four topics below. Take good notes as they will be
turned in and used as part of your evaluation.
- the counties and
major cities in your region with information about
each;
- describe events in
the region's history;
- describe famous
people from the region;
- tell what you think
is important about the region;
- As a group
- tell what people
could do while visiting that region;
- why you selected
that region as a place to visit;
- find clip art from
that region.
Week 3
- Using ClarisWorks
Assistant, create your brochure. See me for
directions.
Week 4
- Give an
oral presentation highlighting
both regions and tell why you chose the one you
did.
