*Warning:  nasty thorns are
prolific in the summer time
!
Flat tire prevention:* the ultimate in flat tire prevention is to have thorn-stopper plastic strips between your inner tubes and tires, green flat-stopping slime in your inner tubes, and extra thick thorn stopper inner tubes.  Last summer one rider picked up two thorns in her front tire and 10 thorns in her back tire (on a brand new bicycle) during the first half of the ride. Only one penetrated the unprotected tube, however, that was one too many.  We urge you to consider incorporating some flat tire preventative measures to largely eliminate the possibility of getting flat tires!
