Lauren is having a great weekend. She is now up to 24 cc's every three hours on her feedings and they have discontinued her TPN intravenous feedings. She is active and steadily gaining weight and very pretty. Tonight she weighed in at 3 lbs, 5 oz. She is maintaining her body temperature with very little help from the incubator. She is swallowing in a coordinated fashion when they feed her with the bottle. She's being a good girl. You hear that, Santa?

Lauren weighed the same today as last night. She had an uneventful day today, and the only change they made is they are bottle-feeding her every feed now instead of once per shift. The nurse says that Lauren sucks the bottles down faster than they could feed her via the tube...

Lauren's weight is now up to 3 lbs, 6 oz. They have increased her feeds to 25 cc's every three hours. She is no longer getting TPN intravenous feedings, but she is still on IV fluids. She is getting multivitamins (PolyVisol), milk fortifier, and MCT oil with her feedings. Her stools are more formed and her stomas look pink and healthy...

Lauren weighed 3 lbs, 6 oz again tonight. She is now off all IV fluids and is taking all her feedings via bottle. If she tolerates full-time bottle feedings well they will discontinue the gastric tube that is currently going down her nose.

Baby Lauren is now taking 27 cc's every three hours by bottle. Today they removed the nasogastric tube and she has tolerated the oral feedings very well. It's really great seeing Baby Lauren without any tubes or tape on her face... She had not been weighed yet when Daddy and Grandma Nidia visited, but we're sure she has again increased in weight...
