I imagine our bodies together
Like the sunlit colors entwined in the sky.
I watch the sunset fade to darkness.
When I see a river,
I see dreams of us flowing together,
as one body, one life, with many paths.
I watch the river run to the ocean.
When I glance at the clouds.
I see the faces of our children playing
in a field of lush wild roses.
The wind blows the clouds away.
When the stars are seen at night
They match the twinkle and flare
between us when we stare
but daylight comes with the morning.
When I see a sunrise
I am reminded I am by myself
Yet am given a chance to make the most of my time with you.
Make the most of every moment
Enjoy the bliss with each smile,
Celebrate our seconds together
on the road or walking by
Going nowhere, going fast
treasuring the time knowing that it can't last.
