Gardening in Florida can be a joy and a real challenge. Weeds and insects do not have to take a break in Florida. Sometimes, neither does the heat! However, the opportunity to garden year round & to grow some of the most exotic and beautiful plants in the world is worth it. I only wish I had more room to plant! I have a small, zero lot line yard, but I am still working hard to surround it with a lush, tropical look. Take a look at what I have successfully grown so far:

Ground Orchid Spathoglottis plicata
Medium shade to full sun
grown in southwestern corner of house & blooming continuously

Walking Iris Trimezia martinicensis
Shade to Sun
grown on East side of home in partial shade/sun
Blooming regularly

Jatropha Jatropha integerrima 'compacta'
Light shade to full sun
Potted on my north-facing patio
Blooming continuously despite a little too much shade

More to Come!
