| Typical Miniature Pinscher Personality *Min Pins are clownish in nature. They love to make noise, such as barking, especially when someone is at your door. But with constant training, they will stop barking on your command. *They are great little watch dogs, they will guard your home intensely. *Min Pins have no fear of anything that is much larger than them, because they do not realize that they are small. *These dogs are born a "professional moocher" Try not to feed them table scraps, bad habits are hard to break. *They are very stubborn and independant thinkers. They will challenge you in any way. Let them know upfront who is boss! *Be prepared for them to guard your bathroom door when you are in there. After a bath, they will lick your toes. *Min Pins are lovey dovey animals and will lick your face alot to show affection. Humans that don't mind having a shadow and are lovey themselves, won't mind having a Min Pin around. *To a Min Pin, the vacuum cleaner is a relative of "jaws" Broome and mops are close cousins. *Keep your garbage cans up. They love to check things out. * Min Pins don't really like to be left alone. If you leave your house, it's a good idea to have them in a crate, or your house will look like a tornado hit it. If your Min Pin suffers from seperation anxiety, There are books and trainers to help you and your Min Pin to deal with this. *Any attempts to housebreak your Min Pin before 7 months of age is going to be futile. This is true even if you are trying to crate them. Never clean up your Min Pins accidents in front of them. They will begin to think it's a game you play with them. Show them who is boss, but be kind and gentle. With time and constant training, Your Min Pin will house broke by age 1. *No matter what mood you're, your min pin will sense it. They are a very smart breed. *Miniature pinschers are versatile and intelligent. They are adaptable to change and travel very well. The breed enjoys mental stimulation, and therefor responds well to training. Min pins can learn tricks easily. *They have the hunting instinct. Originally, min pins were bred to be hunters. They will chase anything. *Min pins only want to be with people. They do not adapt to being left alone, or outside for long periods of time.
