Aqua will launch their new official site tomorrow (12/06/08)

Aqua's new look? Since Aqua announced their comeback in October of past year, they had been very quiet about it. It was a weird situation, as fans knew they were back, but nothing was happening. Now that their concerts during the Grøn Koncert are coming closer, the band are about to launch their new official site at MySpace. The official aperture will happen tomorrow, Friday 13th, but you can already visit it here. Keep in mind that it's still under construction.

For now, you can check a stunning new picture of the four members of the band (to the right), with René disguised as a tamer, Lene as a beautiful hostess, Søren as a clown and Claus as a magician.

You can also hear in streaming a live version of Aquarius (recorded in one of the concerts from 2001) and also a medley of some of Aqua's most famous songs. This medley has four easter eggs, as you can hear snippets of:

  • Freaky Friday (Different Version)
  • Back From Mars (Acapella)
  • Shakin' Stevens (Studio Version)
  • Everybody Loves Somebody
It's the first time that we listen to a high quality version of Shakin' Stevens, an unreleased track from the cancelled third album. On the other hand, the ballad Everybody Loves Somebody is a new recording from Aqua, most probably a cover of a classic song which became very famous in the 60s thanks to the version released by Dean Martin. Whether this will be the new single of the band or just a cover to be performed in the concerts, it's still unknown.

Update (16/06/08): The site is already open and intended to be the way it looks now. In the next weeks, they may add more songs and new information. Aqua are currently at rehearsals of the upcoming tour.
