More details about Aqua's comeback (27/10/2007)

Claus, Lene, Ren and Sren are together again. Like they announced yesterday during a press conference in Copenhagen, they reformed Aqua two months ago. They get along again, and they have ironed out the conflicts that led them to take a break from the band six years ago. During the press conference, they looked happy and smiling all through. According to Ren, they still share the same interest and passion in music, but despite of this they are planning the comeback with caution. Before taking too many risks, they want to test the real interest in Aqua nowadays.

The plans are to begin with 10-20 tour dates around Denmark in summer 2008, although there are no concrete dates, cities or locations yet, not even the Grn Koncert, the festival where they last performed in 2001. Other countries may be toured too, specially those where Aqua were more successful in the past, but it will not be a proper World Tour, and it will all depend in the interest raised. For now, they have already received some offers from Denmark, Italy and Canada. Although they are proud of their songs, Lene assured that the costumes will be less colourful and odd than the old-time Aqua (but always being a "spectacular show", she added) and Claus revealed that the new arrangements of the old songs could be very different and experimental.

There will be no new album in the near future, as it's a step too big to undertake for now. However, Jens-Otto Paludan (one of Universal Music Denmark bosses), told that a Greatest Hits compilation is planned, probably in the latter half of 2008. There are not concrete plans or dates for this compilation either. He also commented that a deluxe pack with the songs and the videos could be released, at least in Asia. Recordings from the discarded third album may surface in the Greatest Hits and even in the live performances.

This is all they revealed for now. Let's hope for more details soon. In any case, and whatever takes place next year, one thing is for sure: Aqua are back.
