Ren Dif does the Ska under "Mista Dif" alias (08/08/2007)

Ren Dif has been working in his solo album for almost two years now, and it should be released later this year. After the failure of his second single, the summer jam "The uhh uhh song", and given the rockish song he revealead at his MySpace, "Way to go", the last thing we expected was that he returned with yet another Lou Bega sounding song. But Ren Dif's new single is indeed a cover of a jamaican classic, "Jamaica Ska", with previous renditions by many other artists, like Byron Lee or Fishbone.

It's worth noting that Ren Dif has adopted a new alias for this project, "Mista Dif", although it's still unknown if it's a definite move or if he will only be using the nickname for this release.

The track, released by Sony BGM Finland, has been produced by Felix Gauder (co-producer of Pet Shop Boys' "Flamboyant") and Michael Parsberg (usual producer of Safri Duo). With its fresh rhythms, the song has already entered the danish dance charts at #14, and it is quite succesful in Finland too.

For now, "Jamaica Ska" and its remixes are only available as digital downloads, from shops like: TDC Online or Laturi. You can also hear preview snippets from these places. Let's hope for a proper CD release soon.

The promotional covers are like this:
