Desperate Barbie-wifes (01/04/2006)

Spanish cable television, FOX, is currently advertising the second season of Mujeres desesperadas (Desperate Housewifes) with Axel Boys Quartet's cover of Barbie Girl as background music.

Released in 1999 by the danish band Axel Boys Quartet, it was a great cover of this Aqua song, and also a very original one thanks to its nice jazz arrangements.

Barbie Girl was the lead single of their second album Casino Royal, which also featured other jazzy covers like Cher's Believe, Axel F, No Doubt's Don't speak, Whitney Houston's I will always love you and many others.
