Lazyboy & Lene mistaken with Madonna (12/07/2005)

Madonna is currently working in her new album, due to release later this year. Interviewed after the Live 8 concert, she confirmed the title of one of the featured tracks in the new album: "I love New York".

Since then, a mysterious clip has appeared at some Madonna forums and file-sharing services, claiming to be a snippet of the new Madonna's song. Some people have even believed that it is true. It has even caused some controversy about Madonna's supposed new musical twist.

But this clip is actually an edit of Lazyboy's "I love N.Y.", a song where Lene sings the main chorus. In the fake clip, there is a distorsion effect to make Lene's voice sound a little bit different.

"I love N.Y." is a great track by Lazyboy and with a great (although short) vocal perfomance by Lene. Unfortunately the song and its video were only featured in the first danish edition of the album. Despite of its potential as a single, all the other versions of the album do not have "I love N.Y." song or video, so they remain kind of unknown for the most part of Lazyboy fans. The song was probably removed because of the unofficial use of "New York, New York" melody or because of problems with having Polydor's permission for Lene to sing there.

You can read its lyrics in Aquarama.tk's Lyrics & Chords section, and you can also listen the fake Madonna clip here.
