Samantha had also caught a glimpse of the killer, Herve Boudin and now faced infinite danger. Following her back to Llanview, Boudin shot Samantha at the Vernon Inn health club. Brad and Rafe responded quickly and discovered Sam floating face down in the hot tub. At the hospital, Dr. Larry Wolek pronounced Sam brain dead, and told Rafe some amazing news: Sam was pregnant when she drowned.
