Llanview would never be the same after Dorian Cramer arrived.

Llanview Hospital welcomed its newest addition to the staff: the coldly competent Dr. Dorian Cramer. Upon settling into a new home in Llanview, Dorian�s younger sister Melinda Cramer arrived to live with her. A former piano prodigy, Melinda had grown increasingly neurotic and often emotionally unbalanced after an arm injury forced her to give up her dreams of becoming a concert pianist. Upsetting Melinda�s already sensitive mental state was the idea of Dorian shucking a private life in order to look after her.

Dorian and Melinda�s living just across the way from Llanfair prompted the friendly Meredith Lord Wolek to drop by and introduce herself. When she arrived, she discovered Melinda passed out from a gas leak in the house and hastily called for an ambulance. After the ordeal, a grateful Melinda struck up a friendship with Merrie and her husband Larry, much to the chagrin of Dorian�who, as the older sister, was over protective and tended to be distrustful of people. As time went on, every attempt Melinda made to create a life for herself, Dorian managed to suppress.

In amongst taking care of Melinda, Dorian began to take an interest in Dr. Mark Toland, her very married colleague at Llanview Hospital. Aware that Mark and Julie�s marriage was on the rocks, Dorian sought to seduce him. With Julie still frigid in bed, Dorian didn�t have to try that hard. While his wife continued to seek therapy for her intimacy issues that hindered their sex life, Mark and Dorian embarked on a passionate affair.
