Chapter 1
After getting off of the plane and getting into our apartment and Orion settled we realized that we needed to get some groceries. That was an experience for us! The first week here I wanted to go home, though I don't have a home to go to!! hahahaha!! but just wanted to be back in Atlanta. It was and still is sometimes a very big culture shock! And takes time to adjust to everything. But as the days progressed it does get better and you become accustom to their everyday way of living.
You need to bring a bag or knapsack everywhere you go because whatever you purchase you need to carry home. No getting into a car and driving wherever you want to go. The first week we were here the tram that we would normally take was down for about 10 days so we walked everywhere we went! Both Jeff and I had very sore muscles for a few days!
But now that the tram is back up and running we tend to still walk unless it is raining or very cold. We have been getting our exercise here.
Below are some pictures of around Prague. The architecture is outstanding here! Take a look for yourself. You wouldn't see this at home!

This is Wenceles Square. The big building in
the back is a museum. There are a lot of great restaurants and
shopping.
|
| This is a famous clock tower situated in Old
Town Square. Jeff and I climbed the tower. The view was just outstanding.
We also took a lot of pictures. These next few pictures are from the tower
top. What amazing views we saw.!
|
This is the bottom part of the tower that we
climbed. There is an elevator but we decided to take the stairs up. We
need the exercise!! hahaha! The top of every hour there is a big display
when the clock chimes and there is always a large crowd around to see
this.
|
| Just an amazing view from the tower!
|
This is a shot of Old Town Square from the
clock tower. Easter celebrations have been going on for the past two
weeks. The Czech people celebrate Easter like we celebrate Christmas. A
very big Holiday here!
|
| Again from the Clock tower a view of a church.
We cannot get over the architecture here. Being here is Europe is sure an
experience.
|
Like we would decorate a Christmas tree, they
decorate the trees in the city with eggs and ribbons. It really is a
pretty sight to see!
