The intention of this website was to have an internet presence for a local feed and supply store. There were certain parts of the website that I thought were important to have in order for the website to get its point across. One element was to have the name of the store on every web page. The second aspect was to have contact information in case a customer wanted to stop by or call. The third element was the hours of operation. I believe these three pieces of information are very important for any business’s website.
This was my first website design. One of the elements I thought of at the beginning was how to set up a site that would be easily edited. For this I tried my best to ensure that most of the elements were placed using CSS. I also made sure that text was also edited in CSS. I chose the color scheme because they stand out and you can also read the text. The header and footer were boxed off to separate that information from the body of each page. For the navigation I chose to put the links at the top of the page. I personally prefer that format to a side navigation bar. I believe that the site is easy to use and gets the point across.
One of the elements that could be added to this website would be the businesses inventory. The pricing and what is in stock could be very helpful to customers. Another aspect that could be added to the website would be the ability to purchase items on line for delivery or pickup. If I had more time I think I could have had some kind of animations and more interactive elements to the website.
