Results- March 22, 2001 Continued After the match Benoit attacked Rock, Rock came back and applied the Sharpshooter on Benoit, instead of coming to the aid of his partner, Angle left smiling at Benoit who was in obvious pain. Vince then came in and demanded Rock to release the hold, Rock did and then gave Vince the Rock Bottom, Angle returned and applied the Ankle Lock on Rock as the show went off the air. SmackDown! Results- March 29, 2001 On the final stop on the Road To WrestleMania, the WWF stopped in Detroit at the Joe Louis Arena for "Smackdown" where Chris Benoit and Test took on Eddy Guerrero and Kurt Angle. Angle and Test started the match with Angle punching Test and that continued as Guerrero came in and got some of his punches in on Test, as Eddy came off the ropes Test lifted up Eddy and dropped him stomach first on the mat. Angle came back in and exchanged punches with Test, with Test down, Angle went for the Ankle Lock but Test was able to get to the ropes in time. Angle continued on Test by following up with a page out of Benoit's book as Angle gave Test two German suplexes, Test was able to block the third German suplex with an elbow to Angle. Angle and Test then hit each other with a clothesline that left both on the mat. As both men go back up, they each made the tag and now Benoit and Guerrero were in with Benoit hit Guerrero with a chop and then Benoit hit a German Suplex on Angle. Guerrero and Angle then double teamed Benoit until Test came and gave the big boot to Eddy which allowed Benoit to apply the Crossface on Eddy for the win at 2:54. After the match Angle applied the Ankle Lock onto Benoit who tapped out just like Angle did on "Raw is War" this past Monday. Chris Benoit will battle Kurt Angle this Sunday at "WrestleMania X-Seven" from Houston, Texas in the Reliant Astrodome. SmackDown! Results- April 5, 2001 On "Smackdown" this week it was 2 on 1 as William Regal and Kurt Angle took on Chris Benoit. The match started with both Regal and Angle double teaming Benoit, Benoit was able to get the Crossface on Regal right away but Angle broke that up. Then Benoit went on the attack and he hit Regal with a German Suplex, then Angle with a German Suplex, another to Regal, one more for Angle and finally one last one on Regal, the crowd was really into this match by that point with Benoit getting a ton of cheers. Benoit then tossed Angle into the post to the outside, Benoit gave Regal a Tiger Suplex and then applied the Crossface onto Regal, Angle dove at Benoit, who released the hold on Regal and applied the Crossface on Angle in an amazing transition. Regal broke the Crossface hold, and Angle delivered a German suplex of his own to Benoit, Regal then gave a double underhook suplex to Benoit, Angle gave Benoit a back suplex. Regal and Angle then attempted a double clothesline but Benoit ducked and gave Regal a German Suplex, Angle responded with a belly to belly suplex on Benoit. Regal then applied the Regal stretch and Angle at the same time, put the Ankle Lock on and Benoit tapped out at 3:00. A great match with some great spots and this feud continues to build as Chris Jericho came at the end of the match to make the save for Benoit. |
