Seven years prior to the abduction of Molly Anne Bish from Warren, another missing child story gripped the Western Massachusetts area.  On August 5, 1993 Holly Piirainen was visiting her grandparents' cottage in Sturbridge, Massachusetts.  Holly and her brother set out for a neighbor's house to play with some puppies.  Holly's brother returned to the cottage, but Holly was nowhere to be found... 

The search for 10 year old Holly Piirainen was one of the largest missing child searches in Massachusetts history back in 1993.  The search continued for two months after Holly disappeared.  Then, on October 23, 1993, the search for Holly came to a sad end when her remains were found by hunters off Five Bridge Road in Brimfield, Massachusetts.  As of yet, Holly's killer has never been found or identified.
