But Why Daddy?

            Randy checked his messages and heard the one from Paula he called her right back, “Baby, I’m sorry I didn’t call you back sooner. I was over my parents’ house. Call me if you need anything for you or the baby, better yet; call me once you get this. I love you.”

He hung up the phone and walked by the room that he was setting up for his new baby. He was out the previous day with his parents looking at baby furniture and getting baby clothes and other things that the baby would need. Never did he think that this soon into his relationship with Paula that they would be having a child together. He and his entire family were completely ecstatic at there was going to be another member of the family.

            JC went back with Paula to her hotel to help her gather her things and pack them in his car. They then headed to his house to set up her room and get her settled in for the next 4 months. They sat down and made a list of the things that they would need to get for Paula as well as the baby.

            At the end of the day, JC sat on his bed looking through some pictures and as he drifted off to sleep, he thought about how much his life was going to change with his new son or daughter.

            The next day JC and Paula met with Cathy Moriarty at her home office at eleven ten a.m. They walked in the room and sat down in the two chairs that were in front of the desk

“Paula…Josh, so good to see you both again,” she said, “I would ask how things are going but from the way you both are sitting, I have a general idea.”

“You can say that…” Paula said, “But Josh said that you want to work out what’s going to be said to the media?”

“Yes, that’s right. I was thinking that we leave out the whole lawyer stuff and just keep it at JC having full custody of the child with supervised visits by Paula. Nothing else about the baby will be released until you are ready Josh.”

“That’s fine with me if it’s fine with Paula.” JC said

“I have no problem with that, and I won’t be requesting to see the baby either.” Paula said, “But if you want to tell the media that, by all means go on.”

Cathy wrote some things down on her pad of paper and handed it to JC to read. “Tell me what you think…”

Some of you have no doubt seen JC Chasez entering and exiting various baby stores in the Orlando area along with a pregnant woman at his side. The woman is Paula McCarthy, his former girlfriend and she is indeed carrying his child. They have both agreed to raise the child even though they are no longer together. Mr. Chasez will have full custody of the child once it is born and Ms. McCarthy will have supervised visits. Further details will be released when both Mr. Chasez and Ms. McCarthy deem right.

After JC read it he handed it to Paula who in turn read it and handed it back to Cathy. “So I take it you both have no objection to this?” Paula and JC both shook their head, “Ok I will be releasing it to various newspapers this after noon so that it is in time for press run tomorrow.”

JC sighed and rubbed his head, “I take it you told Johnny?” he asked. Cathy nodded her head, “How did he take it?”

“He wants to be kept in the loop and so does Clive.” She said, “They are both sticking behind you all the way in this and whatever you decide to do they will back you.”

“That’s good to know…right Josh?” Paula asked

“It’s very good to know…I just don’t know how the fans will react.”

“Don’t worry about that. If they are your fans then they’ll stick by your side.” Cathy said, “Now, what do you have planned for the rest of this month”

“I have to tell the rest of the guys later on today, I need to get lots of baby things and I believe my parents were flying in.”

“What about Cynthia?” Paula asked

“Cynthia is always going to be there, she’s my best friend.” Josh said, “So, umm are we done Cat?”

“Yup all done here, let me know if you need anything.”

“Will do.” Paula and JC said as they got up and left.

            “CYNTHIA!!” Paula called out from her bedroom

Cynthia went up to her room and opened the door, “What do you want?”

“Can you help me to the bathroom?” Paula asked sweetly

“Jesus! You’re only 6 and a half month pregnant!” Cynthia said stomping to the bed and helping the woman up, “I swear if you ask me to wipe your ass I will take the baby out of you myself and shoot you!” Cynthia took Paula to the bathroom and then went back down to the kitchen.

“I’m sorry that she’s running you around so much Cyn.” Josh said kissing her cheek, “But she won’t ever take the help from me when I offer.”

Cynthia smiled, “I’m only doing this so that I make sure she doesn’t suck you dry.”

“Oh you know you want to spend more time with me,” He laughed, “So what’s for dinner?”

“Well, the royal mommy wants baked potatoes and fried chicken along with macaroni and cheese.”

“Mmm sounds good,” he said, “Need any help?”

“Yes I do…set the table and then go tell Paula that her food is ready and then call your parents back asking for the time their plane lands.” Cynthia said, “And then after that, I need a shot of Jack Daniels to get me through the rest of the night.”

Josh did all that Cynthia asked him to do and then he called his parents to see when their flight was arriving.
