"Bear not the yoke with unbelievers. For what participation hath justice with injustice? Or what fellowship hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath the faithful with the unbeliever? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God: as God saith: I will dwell in them and walk among them. And I will be their God: and they shall be my people. Wherefore: Go out from among them and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing: And I will receive you. And will be a Father to you: and you shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty" II Cor. vi. 14-18

Shri Bhishmaraj Bam of the Swadhaya Movement initiated the deliberation on religions. He referred to the Bhagwad Gitas insistence on the basic values of non-violence, abstinence (Brahmacharya), truth and non-hoarding (Aparigraha) which are enough to free one of all undesirable (tamasic) qualities and lead one to salvation. Rev. Bhadant Rahul Bodhi shared the basic Buddhist vision of love that helps one to purify ones mind and renounce all that prevents harmony and peace. Shri. Surendra Vajpayee acquainted the gathering with the Jain philosophy of peace and emphasized Acharya Tulsis message of diligent work. In his address to the audience Archbishop Quintana, expressed his joy to be present at the Inter-religious dialogue and said harmony among religions is the concern of all responsible leaders and for this interaction is a pre-requisite. He opined that while globalisation has its own virtues all the same it has brought in a lot of migration that might be the cause for some misunderstanding. We ought to remember that we gather in fraternal solidarity to continue our quest for reality. Man is incomplete without his spiritual aspect. Being made in the likeness of God, man should emulate Gods virtues. We need to have a fraternal dialogue between various philosophies to answer the questions that plague our minds. The lessons of the past must help us seek paths of reconciliation. Respect for minorities is a sign of true civilization. After Vatican II, the efforts of the church towards harmony have been commendable and right now it is the priority of Pope Benedict XVI to continue building bridges of amity with other religions. Lets join hands with one another to bring forth a new civilization where justice and peace prevail and where truth alone triumphs said the Papal Nuncio before he ended with his blessing of peace. Rev Bishop Dr. Thomas Dabre concluded the dialogue by thanking the speakers. He said to empower the country we need a dialogue. The diocese of Vasai has always prioritised inter-religious understanding in its agenda. He thanked the Papal Nuncio and said his visit has been a source of encouragement to this movement of ecumenism. "True nation building means working towards annihilation of communalism and fostering of brotherhood," said Bishop Dabre. The Sequeira brothers of Giriz, Vasai presented the Nuncio with a wooden cross, the base of which depicts the culture of Vasai. The Hindus presented him with a copy of the Gita. Mr. Simon Martin compered the programme. Ms. Lucy Martin & Mrs. Monica Tuscano rendered melodious religious songs. The programme was followed by 'Sahabhojan' ("A meal of communion")>. The same evening Archbishop Quintana celebrated the Holy Mass to conclude the Eucharistic Year. More than 25,000 people attended the ceremony. "I wonder that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ, unto another gospel. Which is not another: only there are some that trouble you and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach a gospel to you besides that which we have preached to you, curse him! As we said before, so now I say again: If any one preach to you a gospel, besides that which you have received, curse him!" Galatians i. 6-9
