School 'Jesus' invites Bajrang Dal furyhttp://in.news.yahoo.com[See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki By IBNlive.com Monday September 11, 09:57 AM New Delhi: At least 40 activists of hardliner Hindu group Bajrang Dal went on a rampage at the Loretto Convent School in Lucknow on Sunday accusing the school of influencing children in the name of Christianity. The incident took place after a controversy over a special occult session organised by the school where some students fainted when a man reportedly appeared in front of them saying he was Jesus Christ. According to agency reports, an eyewitness said the man appeared on stage, first meditating and then writhing and shuddering on the ground as if in pain. "After a few agonizing moments he was up on his feet declaring Jesus was inside him and that he could bless anyone who sought his divine exaltation," the school girl said on the condition of anonymity. At least three Bajrang Dal activists were arrested on charges of vandalism and ransacking the school property. They broke windows of the school's chapel and damaged flower pots and doors. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal have said they will take to the streets on Monday to protest against the arrests. All Catholic schools in Lucknow will remain shut on Monday in protest. |
Govt orders probe into occult act[11 Sep, 2006 0207 hrs Indian Standard Time, Times News Network]LUCKNOW: Within hours of TOI reporting that the prestigious Loreto Convent School here had organised an occult session which left a number of students unconscious, Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav on Sunday ordered an inquiry into the issue. Lucknow District Magistrate Ramendra Tripathi will conduct the probe and submit a report within three days. Other members of the probe team are ADM (City), ACM-1 and District Inspector of Schools. The probe took off with District Inspector of Schools Vikas Srivastava recording statements of people associated with the session held on September 6. On Sunday evening, protesting against the occult session, activists of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) stormed the campus on Sunday evening. With no security to stop them, the protesters ransacked the school premises. Following the (vandalization) incident, Secretary of Association of Catholic Educational Institutions (UP), Father Paul Rodrigues, announced closure of all member schools in Lucknow on Monday. Special security arrangements were also put in place outside the school and other Catholic institutions. Meanwhile, there was sharp public reaction after news channels reported the the issue all through the day. Around 5 pm, about 40 BJYM activists staged a demonstration against the Loreto management at the school gate. Carrying BJP flags and shouting slogans against the management, they forced their way into the campus and smashed flower pots and window panes. "They even broke into the chapel and damaged property," said a school attendant. Police reached the site but not before the miscreants had fled the scene. They, however, nabbed three youths on charges of damaging the Loreto property. Enraged by the police action, dozens of members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Hindu Mahasabha gheraoed Hazratganj police station, demanding immediate release of their activists who, they claimed, were protesting peacefully, when the police nabbed them. The Loreto management claimed that anticipating trouble, they had informed the police but nobody reached the site in time. "I kept on calling the SP but he didn't take my call," said principal Sister Monica. It was later revealed that she was calling the SP (Traffic Police). Later, addressing mediapersons, school's community leader Sister Teresa said their intention was the "spiritual and emotional development of children. It was a prayer experience". She added that "they just wanted their students to experience the power of God as the spiritual development would help children". |
What is astounding is that Hindus both the Neo-Nazi fanatics of the B.J.P. and Socialists of the Mulayam Yadav provincial administration immediately recognized the event for what it was an occult practise, a séance, even when "Catholics", and mind you, we are speaking of "religious" priests and nuns failed to recognize this truth. What Madness Is This?
Seance? To "invoke" Jesus Christ? Is this by "Christians" or by pagans? How have "Christians" fallen so low that they need to indulge in such Satanist activities in the name of "invoking" Jesus Christ? Has the Vatican II sect embraced Simon Magus so thoroughly?
This madness is unspeakable! And, not only is this madness, but these "Catholics" are protesting against the Bajrang Dal's attack on the Loreto Convent School by closing all their schools in the city!
Please spread this news far and wide.
"Therefore I say to you: Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but the blasphemy of the Spirit shall not be forgiven. And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but he that shall speak against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him neither in this world, nor in the world to come." Mathew xii. 31-32 (Challoner Catholic Bible)The Catholic Church has always taught very clearly what constitutes the unforgiveable "Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost". It is to either attribute the work of God the Holy Ghost to Satan, or to attribute the work of Satan to God the Holy Ghost (See, for e.g., Catholic Encyclopædia).
At the gathering, Nobo went around grunting and growling, making hissing sounds... to 'induce' Jesus to enter his body. He then began blessing the students. Most of the girls were either horrified or too shocked to explain the unusual phenomenon. A dozen students also fainted while some needed medical attention. Moreover:
A worried parent said, "They were told that this is a man who has had some kind of divine experience, which he wanted to relate to the students. What happened later has been described as a kind of sance or trance that he went in to, and witnessing that a lot of children fainted."
During the ritual, Nobo started shuddering and collapsed. "I thought he was dead and I also passed out," said a student. [Loreto's occult session]
One of the students who wished her identity to be kept secret witnessed the proceedings on Wednesday. She described the event as a very strange one and confirmed that some students did, in fact, faint. From the Times of India, we learn:
"Two men came from Kolkata one day and Father said that they had witnessed God. The man fell on the ground and started singing something. Suddenly, he started howling, shrieking and acting very strange. There were lots of children from Class VIII to Class XII they all were very frightened because he was acting weird," she said.
"After all that was over, he became normal and said God was within him and that we can come to him and tell him our wishes. As we went to him one by one, he touched a cross on our hands and blessed us and the priest applied sand, oil and water on our heads and said all your problems will be solved by this. He also told us to take it to our parents," she added.
"Yes, some students had fainted. We felt suffocated there and were very frightened due to all that was happening, which had caused a lot of problem," the student confirmed. [Loreto's occult session]
"It is very painful when Jesus enters his body. That is why he was writhing on the ground," explained Sister Monica. [Times of India: Loreto's date with 'Jesus']Another report informs us:
Sister Monica (the Principal) reportedly admitted some students fainted during the program but said it was not unusual "to be terrified" during such profound experiences. "Even I was frightened," she said. Then, as if to put the "icing on the cake" we are informed:
Mandal, a former rickshaw-puller, creates frightening scenes when he becomes the medium. He first appears on stage meditating, and then shudders on the ground as if in excruciating pain. He makes frightening hissing sounds during the "transformation".
Some students told newspapers that they thought he was dying or having a massive heart attack. The sounds and the frightening movements Mandal created made some of them faint, they said.
The principal defended what happened in the school. "Nobody was forced to stay because Jesus will never bless those who don't believe," Sister Monica was quoted as saying. [The Indian Catholic: Hindu activists attack Loreto school in Lucknow]
School Principal Sister Monica said she was not deterred by the protests. "Our school also gives spiritual teaching to students and this was just a spiritual session with children. It was just like any other class. We do it regularly and will do it again," she said. [International Herald-Tribune]AND:
Speaking about the séance, Sister Teresa, Mother Superior, Loreto Convent, said that holding such 'interventions' was not uncommon in the school and the incident was blown out of proportion by mischief-makers. [Source].AND, again, lastly:
Henry de Sousa, Executive Secretary of the "Catholic" Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI), says events such as the Loreto séance are a common practice in Christian-run schools, and that such religious and spiritual practises help the students and staff members gain spiritual enlightenment. "In 1998... an illiterate tricycle puller (Nobo) experienced miraculous healing from an acutely damaged kidney condition."And goes on to inform us that:
"The Blessed Virgin Mary expressed her desire to establish a shrine and extend her love and care for all people of good will irrespective of caste, creed, religion and sex from Chandra, a remote mission station under the Cathedral parish of Krishnagar in the rural heartland of Bengal.""Nobo Kumar Mondol", a Bengali name, which in Hindi is "Nava Kumar Mandal", is a Hindu name. The "Our Lady of Chandra" website, however, informs us that he is a "Catholic".
"The Fatima Bhavan (i.e., "house"), Chandra, is a registered trust with a committee consisting of several members with Nobo as the president and trustee who has the sole power over Chandra Fatima Bhavan. It is a lay movement and everything is organized by lay people. It is a prayer centre for people of all religions. Christian people like people of other religions come in big numbers to listen to the Word of God and to experience the healing power of JESUS. Many Catholic priests and nuns come to attend the fortnightly prayer service. There are wonderful testimonies of Catholic nuns in the first edition of the book of testimony published on 12th August 2001. Sisters of different congregations who attend the fortnightly prayer service feel it has done them a lot of good. The preaching is done by Catholic priests, protestant pastors, lay people of all religions and Nobo Kumar, the chosen one of the Lord."We are also informed that to contact the "Fatima Bhavan", we can do so by contacting either of these two persons:
Mr. Nobo Kumar Mondol, Fatima Bhavan, Chandra, Badkulla, District of Nadia, West Bengal. India. Post Code 741 101.
Fr. Sebastian Kuzhipala, S.D.B., Parish Priest, Catholic Church, Berhampore Post Office, District of Murshidabad, West Bengal. India. Post Code 742 101.
Uttar Pradesh Governor T.V. Rajeshwar has expressed displeasure at the 'occult' act performed at a leading missionary school here. Catholic representatives met the governor Tuesday seeking his intervention to ensure the safety of their institutions. 'The governor counselled the school authorities to shun occult activities on the school premises,' the sources said. He was not convinced with their explanations describing the 'séance' as a 'special spiritual prayer to experience God'.[India e-News]But, perhaps, the best condemnation of the hypocrisy of the Neo-Nazis came from a Liberal fellow-Hindu, Ms. Malavika Sanghvi:
In a country where every second Hindu guru / godman claims to be a reincarnation of a god is it such a shocking thing to have a priest claim he is Christ?
I have interviewed at least half a dozen godmen, who have made similar or more grandiose claims. In a milieu where the supernatural exists cheek-by-jowl with the ordinary, I do not think such an event would have passed any muster unless it was politically motivated.
So heres the rub: narrow minded Hindu mob pounces upon the incident to bash in a few doors and flower pots but not before informing TV channels who capture the moment for posterity. [Malavika Sanghvi: "Having Nun Of It", in the Daily News & Analysis, Sept. 12.]
Father Anthony Charanghat, official spokesperson for the Church in Mumbai, have condemned it. "I read in the newspapers that she (the principal) considers it a part of human and personal development. I don't know on what basis she has judged it to be so. But the official church does not permit such prayer services, not for Catholics, let alone non-Catholics," said Father Anthony. [Source]One of the high ranking prelates of the Robber Church in India has also weighed in:
"There is no place for superstition in this religion. What happened at the school that day was very unfortunate. This kind of thing is not encouraged in the Christian faith," said Ranchi's Cardinal Toppo. [Source]And an anonymous layperson has also repudiated this:
Not just priests, but even lay Christians have expressed their shock. "What happened in Lucknow is not something that usually happens in our religion. We do not accept these occult practices, these are not part of our religion," said a follower of the faith in Mumbai. [Source]
