Selling apples during the anniversary of Chitré, 19 Oct. 2001.
The Azuero peninsula sticks down in the Pacific off the isthmus of Panama.  It is composed of two provinces and part of a third.  The provinces of Herrera and Los Santos lie totally within the peninsula, along with a long sliver of the province of Veraguas (on the western edge).
The purpose of this web site is to simply pass on some of the interesting things I have seen and maybe a few observations on life in Azuero.  Also included are links to other web sites dealing with Azuero or the Republic of Panama.  I won’t try and explain things if someone else has already done a better job, instead a link will be provided where appropriate.  (Remember to hit your back button to return to this site).

Herrera is well known for its pretty girls.
And Los Santos for it's accesible beaches

Buy this book and take a break from all this Panama stuff. It has nothing at all to do with Panama. The author has never been to Panama. People who read this book don't usually have any interest in Panama. Let people think you've stopped that obsessive behavior. Soon they'll relax and you can slip out and just move down here like I did and while away your time eating really greasy chicharones and drinking weak beer. Leo the_bleachman
