Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani is a self-assured, lively, party girl who has the sexiest, wildest and finest fashion diva of any woman in music today. She is best known for her crazy outfits and cute girlie vocals. Gwen Stefani moved into the music spotlight in 1987 as the sexy lead singer for the band No Doubt with members: John Spence, Tony Kanal and Eric Stefani. Gwen became familiar to Ska music due to her brother Eric Stefani, who encouraged her to listen many of the bands playing around Fullerton, California where they grew up. With the release of No Doubt's 1995 album Tragic Kingdom, Stefani became highly popular and recognizable. The album spawned hits such as "Just a Girl", "Spiderwebs", and "Don't Speak". Tragic Kingdom got the band nominated for two Grammys and got to number one on the Billboard charts“. The first single "Just A Girl has become No Doubt's commercial appeal: a naïve-looking girl with a rough edge playing with a bunch a boys. Many of the album's songs, including "Don't Speak" and "Spiderwebs", were a perfect representation of Stefani's liaison and disintegration with fellow band member Tony Kanal. Stefani courted Kanal for seven years until he ended the relationship. She slipped into depression after touring for Tragic Kingdom. Meanwhile, Gwen got a lot of media attention for being one of People’s 50 most beautiful people and for her blooming relationship with Bush’s frontman, Gavin Rossdale. In 1996, the hybrid of ska-punk in a hit single called 'Don't Speak,' one of the tracks from No Doubt's Grammy nominated third album Tragic Kingdom, gave Gwen and the remaining members of the group identification. The album’s video was themed on inner jealousy in a band, and accumulated plenty of play on MTV and in December 1996, No Doubt hit the Top 10 with "Don't Speak" - and ended the year hitting #1 where it stayed for 7 weeks. It was nominated for an American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock New Artist and a Grammy Award for Best New Artist and Best Rock Album.

In September 2002, Gwen and Gavin Rossdale got married. Moreover, after No Doubt’s album Rock Steady in 2001, Gwen decided to work on a solo album. She changed her style of music a little bit and worked harder to deliver a fine creation in her first solo effort. Thus far, her solo career has been most recognized for a pair of popular 2001 duets, the 'Southside' remix with techno artist Moby and 'Let Me Blow Ya Mind' with rapper Eve. As a matter of fact, Stefani became the first artist in history to win both Best Male Video and Best Female Video awards at the MTV VMA's, for ‘Southside’ and 'Let Me Blow Ya Mind' in 2001. She released her debut solo single "What You Waiting For?" on October 4, 2004 in North America. It reached the top twenty in Canada but under whelmed on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Her debut solo album, "Love. Angel. Music. Baby.," was released in November 2004. The album reached at number five on the Billboard 200 and at number five on the Canadian albums chart; it reached number four in the UK and number one in Australia. Stefani's "Hollaback Girl" made digital-music history and surpassed the 1-million mark in download sales, making it the first commercial digital download to do so. She made her acting debut in the 2004 Martin Scorsese movie The Aviator. Gwen Stefani received five Grammy award nominations on December 8, 2005.
