I would like to express my deepest appreciation to all the
family, friends, and colleagues who have helped make this beginning
of the millenium the beginning of a new part of my life. As always,
thanks to all the artists (both musical and photographic) whose
work I have shamelessly appropriated for my own personal message
of good cheer and seasonal reflection.
Nevertheless, one of the benefits of the CD-Extra format is that
the liner notes Acoustic.html can include website
links to the artists home pages, and even links to purchase
their albums if you enjoy their music.
And finally, humble gratitude to the Prime Artist through
whom all things are possible... |

...of celebration in the midst of tragedy.
So congratulations to Dan & Jocelyn, Jen & Bryan,
Fay & Grant, Jon & Stephanie, and Dad & Ying Tong.
Congratulations also to Chase & Andrea, Lisa & Chris,
Tara & Tony, Rich & Queenie, and also Sherry, Alex, and
of course Gene & Wei (and Jason, too!).
Speaking of Jason, he and his baby brother share the same
birthday (April 25) two years apart (1999 and 2001). Ironically,
on that date during the year between, Dad, Gene, |

and I were preparing for the funeral of their grandma, who finally
found rest for her soul on Easter Monday after a long battle
with cancer and an even longer battle with life.
So for some of you, its been literally five weddings
and a |
funeral since weve spoken. For others, Ive had
the happy opportunity to reconnect thanks to all my August /
September travels.
Sadly, however, none of my travel arrangements seemed to be
on the same airline; so much for accumulating frequent flyer
miles!
In spite of the rush of nuptials, however, it has been over
a year since my last sojourn to California. If any of you are
planning a wedding, March would be a great time to have one.
It would still be winter in Michigan, but not the height of summer
yet in the Bay Area...
