*'Walk for Someone You Love!'  was the theme of the 2006 March of Dimes this past Sunday, April 30th in which Julie and I participated in.  We raised over $700 for the cause.  The event was a 10K walk, which starts and ends in Manhattan at 62nd st. between Columbus and Amsterdam Ave.  More & more women have pre-term pregnancy and give birth to premature babies each day.  Each year, over 480,000 babies are born too small and too soon.  By taking part in making and raising donations for March of Dimes-Walkamerica, you are helping to save babies and prevent premature birth and birth defects.  For years, March of Dime has led the way in the research of surfactant, a drug used to help babies breathe when suffering from respiratory distress syndrome as well as taught mothers about the benefits of folic acid.  "Premature babies need hope, love, and you!"  Donations are still accepted at www.walkamerica.org.

*Getting through our LAST semester-Helping one another!  Do you have any study materials that you'd like to share with your classmates?  Tables/charts that you've created to help you study better?  Old lecture notes that you find helpful?  Lecture notes that you've typed up to study?  Share them with your classmates!  Let's graduate in 2007 together!  Send them to us at [email protected] and we will post them on the website.  Fourth year students are doing it, helping each other getting through school, why aren't we?

*DUE DATES:  Bring the original and at least 1 copy of the following documents to HS 503 [NYS intern permit, completed health forms + labs + titres + proofs, 5 completed HIPPA training modules, proof of citizenship/pernament resident/alienation resident status].  Collection begins on Monday, April 10 to Monday, May 1, 2006.  EVERYONE must turn in all the required documents at the time and dates above, regardless of your rotation time!  Please check the bulletin board outside HS 503 for available time of submission.

ATTENTION fellow classmates with Ambulatory Clerkship in Summer-block 3 (7/27-8/25)- and Fall-block 1 (9/7-10/10)!!!  You are REQUIRED to come to campus on Thursday, May 11 in HS 507 to meet with Professors Schwartz and/or Feifer.  For those of you who will be taking this course in Summer Block 3 please arrive at 9 am.  For those of you will be taking this course in the Fall Block 1 please arrive at 11 am. Please bring along with you a form from EMS, under "forms and documents" to this meeting.  Students from other groups, please be patient and check your email regularly as you will be informed when and where to meet.

ADVANCED PRACTICE EXPERIENCE ORIENTATION: This note concerns students who are  scheduled to participate in ANY advanced practice experience (clerkship) this SUMMER, which lasts from May 22 to August 25.  You are REQUIRED to attend this orientation on Friday, May 19, at 9:00am in HS 121 where key materials will be distributed.
