Receivers
This is the part
of the radio that picks up messages from another station. It is often
abbreviated to RX
Antenna
Picks up the
radio signal and converts it to an electrical signal.
Tuning and RF
amplifier
One frequency
out of the millions available is selected. The others are filtered out. The
signal is then amplified.
Detector
(demodulator)
The carrier wave
is removed by a tuned circuit leaving only the audio wave
(message)
Audio
amplifier
The signal is
made bigger so it will be possible to hear.
Loudspeaker
The electrical
signal is converted to a sound wave.
