Waalegh Campsite

May, 2000

The Waalegh Campsite is situated on the Bibbulmun Track between Beraking Campsite and Helena Campsite. I do not think that it will be accessable to day trippers because the access roads to it are either blocked by locked gates or there is a sign on the side of the road prohibiting entry because of Forest Dieback disease. I know that Allen Road from Mundaring Weir and Firewood Road and Watson Road from Sawyers Valley seem to be no-goers. So its a long day trip if I want to go to Waalegh and back.

From the opposite direction this really did look like a fence across the Bibbulmun Track. It was only a fallen tree.

This palm tree was about to flower and fruit shortly after a fire. It has covered itself in a fine brown cotton wool-like material.
