| Clever Girl... >> Friends >> The List >> Superjesus From: Andrew Subject: superjesus: the new rock gods On the first day, god made The Superjesus. After that he took a bit a of a break, sat down with the proverbial kit kat (or whatever product they had back then) and thought to himself "yeah they're pretty grouse, I don't think I need to do anymore for a while" and let them loose on the world to spread the mightily convincing gospal that is Australian alternative. On the second day we (me, carls, inbal, lexi and lauren) travelled many a mile on a pilgrimage to young Eastwood Hotel to pay our respects to these avatars of heavenly rock. And oh how we did praise them. For an hour and a half i think we were given a glimpse of musical heaven. (ok yes i am pushing the metaphor a little bit. so they have 'jesus' in their name, haha.) They played all your old favourites, like 'down again', 'saturation' and 'ashes' and also the cool new ones, 'gravity', 'second sun', 'over to you', 'secret agent man' and 'enough to know'. I must admit I had a bit of trouble mouthing the words to the likes of 'everything turns' though, seeing as i only got their new album a couple of days ago, but i have to say that my air guitar playing was way in tune, and my headingbanging right in synch. I think everyone who knows about the No Doubt concert will be pleased to hear that, yes, I have stepped up in the world of female rockstar admiration. This time, i was right at the front, in front of the bouncers (they were too busy holding back the big guys to worry about a little grot like me) and at one point i was actually standing on the stage. yay. Anyway, the point is, I got to touch Sarah McLeod's guitar and she shook my hand after second sun, and during down again, when she was playing her guitar solo in the middle, she came down and let me stroke her hair for a while. Needless to say, after that 'incident' the bouncers wanted to kill me. One tried repeatedly to trip me over, and another one kept on trying to punch me in the balls. So... yes... i am sad. anyway, i got tshirt and autograph and now ive seen my 3 fave bands in concert (yay!). But what's sad (just by the way) is that Ben Folds Five broke up just the other day *sob*. oh well... Oh yeah we also saw lotel, but only 'teenager of the year' but hey that was pretty cool in itself anyways. Aaaaaaaah... so the point is everyone, to quote everyone's best mate, Molly, do yourself a favour and become musically religious for one night this week. enough crap from me now byee. Andrew back |
