Clever Girl... >> Love >> Perfect Guy

He opened up my eyes, I understand everything and now I can die - Nina Gordon

This is a little something I wrote for a survey asking people to describe their perfect guy or girl.  I should add that just about every guy I know who has seen this rant has told me that my perfect guy is gay, to which I replied "Of course, for a guy to be nice he
would have to be gay, wouldn't he?"  I was generally told that no, nice guys weren't gay, just guys who liked drama, and clubbing, and musicals (although I must say I don't see any mention of musicals here).

Well, I know I'm a little picky, but hey, I just know what I want - Britney Spears

Anyhow...

My perfect guy, huh?

He'd be very smart (if he was noticably dumber than me I'd get annoyed), creative, passionate, idealistic (left-winger, but not unrealistically so), ambitious (he wouldn't want to travel the beaten path).  We'd go to art galleries and plays on the weekends, or go dancing, clubbing, or for picnics in the park.  He's be keen to expand his mind and my own - he'd teach me about everything he loved and want to learn about everything that interested me.  He'd be willing to read Germaine Greer just because I asked him to and discuss it with me afterwards.  He would not be intimidated by intelligent girls with spirit and personality and wouldn't be worried about being outshone.  (Gee, I wonder if that last sentence was taken from experience ;)).

But he wouldn't be too serious or a bore.  He'd like doing fun, crazy and immature things - like running down the street singing retro pop songs, sober, writing silly poetry, and playing Mr Squiggle.

He'd be social - with lots of friends, and go to a party every weekend.  He'd drink socially, but alcohol wouldn't be necessary for him to have a personality (also taken from experience ;)).

He'd be quirky and unique, faithful, sincere and loyal.

Upon reading this to my sister, I was told that I wanted to date myself, but with a penis.

He'd think I was the most wonderful girl he'd ever met.  He'd love the way I thought about things and life, think it was cute when I was being dorky or stressed, and think I was genuinely beautiful.

As for looks... I'm not
too stressed - because it someone possessed all of the above I'd probably fall head over heels - providing they weren't hideouslly ugly. :p

In the original, I do describe the ideal appearance, but I think that's superfluous to this essay, a little embarrassing, and well... yeah... you don't need to know. ;)
