| Clever Girl >> Love >> Boy Patterns While my own definitions may not necessarily coincide with those which are mathematically correct, as I often tell Chantelle, "If it happens more than once, it's pattern." And so, in an attempt to gain a better undertstanding of what exactly my apparently homogeneous 'type' is, I decided to conduct a statistical study regarding my past crushes/flirtationships/relationships/etc... An important aspect of this study was the consideration of what exactly a crush was. According to different definitions, I could have liked over 40 guys (this would be including every male, celebrity or otherwise, I have deemed attractive for a period of 2 days or longer over the past 14 years or so), 14 guys (guys who I have been reasonably interested in past the age of 12), 6 guys (probably the most accurate definition - ones I wanted to go out with), 3 guys (the ones I genuinely liked), or 2 guys (the ones I loved). For statistical purposes, I decided to go with the list of 14. So, let's take a look at the patterns. Remember: if it occurs more than once, it's a pattern. Blondes: 6 Brunettes: 8 Soccer players: 4 (okay, this was the oddity that inspired this entire statistical breakdown... what was scary was that each of the best three played soccer - this is because soccer players are the hottest :p) Pianists: 2 (but possibly more ;)) Prefects: 5 Private school boys: 4 Among those, boys who attended Sydney Grammar: 3 Selective school boys: 7 Among those, boys who attended SBHS: 6 Celebrities: 3 Boys who are smarter than me: 3 Of these, percentage who make up the three most favouritist boys: 100% Liberal party voters (booooooo): 3 (possibly 4 *eek*) Evil boys: 14 Boys who lived in the Eastern Suburbs: 8 Boys who lived north of the bridge: 3 Boys who lived in the south: 1 (haha, so no pattern there) Boys who lived in entirely different countries: 2 Class of 1998: 4 Class of 1999: 5 Hobby crushes (liked for their hotness): 7 Convenience crushes (liked because they liked me): 4 True crushes (liked because they were amazing Wonderboys, supercool, and with great potential): 3 Boys who drove me to tears: 5 Average score on looksometer: 7.17 Highest score on looksometer: 9.85 Highest (non-celebrity) score on looksometer: 8.2 (well, it's actually somewhere between 9.6 and 9.75 now that the looksometer has been reworked to equate to level of attraction minus facial flaws) Average score on personalityometer: 6.69 Highest score on personalityometer: 9.65 Highest score on that thing where you add up the number of times the letters of 'love' occur in your names: 99% (true crush) Average score: 62.23% Lowest score: 25% (convenience crush) So that was clearly a scientific method. ;) After all, my other two 'true crushes' also received over 90% using this method. I'm sure I'll think of some more statistics later, but that's enough for now. :p back |
