MOTHER'S DAY 2006!

CLASS COOKBOOK:
This year, our class will be making a class cookbook.  Each child will be submitting a tried and true recipe that their mom makes. Click here for blackline master.

"HEAD TO TOES"
MOTHER'S DAY CARD:  We will be making the cute card seen below by decorating a circle for the front (head) and cutting out a tracing of our foot for the inside.  Click here for the blackline master.

MORE MOTHER'S DAY GIFTS:

Handprint Tile: Use square, ceramic tiles and have students dip their palm in paint.  Press child's palm onto square and use a permanent marker to write their name and the date.  **This is easier than using plaster!

Flower Handprint Hand Towel: Buy hand towels in bulk and use fabric paint to press child's palm onto towel.  Use paint or permanent markers to draw stem coming out of the bottom of child's hand.  Write name and date and attach this poem to the package.

A piece of me
I give to you.
I painted this flower
To say 'I love you".
I hope you will save it
And look back someday
At the flower we shared
On your special day.

Teapot Card: Have children color the blackline master teapot.  It looks cute pasted to a larger piece of construction paper.  Glue following poem to the front and a square piece of white paper that can hold a real tea bag!

Here's a gift for Mother's Day.
I'll try my best in every way.
But when you get upset with me,
Relax and have a cup of tea.

Bubble Bath Recipe: Use the following recipe to make baggies full of bubble bath for the moms!

Place in a snack size Ziploc bag:
1 cup Epson salt
1 Tablespoon of glycerin
4 to 5 drops of food coloring
2 squirts of perfume
Seal bag and mix by squishing gently from the outside.
