MAY POEMS

A Little Seed

A little seed, for me to sow

A little earth to make it grow.

A little hole, a little pat,

A little wish, and that is that.

A little sun, a little shower

A little while, and then a flower!
Butterfly

Butterfly, butterfly, flutter around.

Butterfly, butterfly, touch the ground.

Butterfly, butterfly, fly so free.

Butterfly, butterfly, land on me!

Butterfly, butterfly, reach the sky.

Butterfly, butterfly, say "Good-bye"!

Here is the egg, small and round
On a leaf above the ground.
Here is the caterpillar, watch it eat
Lots of leaves, juicy and sweet.
Here is the chrysalis, small and thin;
The changing pupa sleeps within.
Here is the butterfly, fluttering away;
Time to celebrate its happy birthday.
Ladybug

Tune:  This Old Man

Ladybug, show your spots,

You have red wings and black dots,

We count those seven dots,

On your shiny shell,

Ladybug, your spots are swell
The Spider In The Web

Tune:  The Farmer in the Dell

The spider in the web,

The spider in the web.

Spin, spin, oh watch him spin,

The spider in the web.

The spider eats a (bug name)

The spider eats a __________.

Spin, spin, oh watch him spin,

The spider in the web.
Mother's Day

Mother's Day, I reached behind

Some books upon a shelf.

And gave my Mom a little card

That I had made myself.

She smiled and hugged me very close,

And said, "Oh, thank you, honey."

And then her eyes got full of tears,

Now doesn't that seem funny?
